Structure is Everything - And it's Here at WA!

It's just plain hard to change.

The easiest thing to do is what you've always done.

I know this as achingly well as anyone.

I recently found a collection of notebooks and diaries of mine from over 20 years ago. At that time I was planning - and I had everything outlined - to start my own business, write a novel, earn a certain amount of money by the time I was a certain age. A whole raft of goals I wanted to accomplish. Written down. Committed to.

All I can say is...time leaked by.

Some things got started. Some things didn't. What struck me was how little my goals changed over time. I could have written the same goals yesterday. I don't regret anything. I've done some pretty cool things in the intervening 20 years like, above all, helping raise a great family.

But the goals in some ways got left behind.

What I know now, from my experience at Wealthy Affiliate, was that I had no structure. A simple way to get out of the blocks. A way to get things not only started, but accomplished.

I've been at Wealthy Affiliate now for a year and a half. For about 12 of those 18 months I nibbled around the edges. I got sidetracked. Wasn't convinced it would work. But something clicked and effectively about 6 months in - in my mind - I feel like I'm finally hitting my stride. I'm finally kind of getting it. And it's all because of the tremendous structure that Kyle and Carson have set up here.

All I really needed to do was turn myself over to the structure. And do the work. I've worked lesson-by-lesson, and thoroughly (not cutting any corners) through the Online Certification, taken advantage of all the community support here, and all of a sudden, it seems, I've got the foundations of a credible business. And most importantly, a feel for the work to do and the path forward.

One small step at a time.

I still have a long way to go, but I wouldn't trade my Wealthy Affiliate experience for anything.

Time truly does fly. Had I had this kind of structure and supportive community to bolster my plans 20 years ago...well...things might be quite different.

But I'm glad they're not. Because I'm here.
