Using Twitter

So I wanted to write a quick post about the advantages of using Twitter. I see Twitter and Pinterest as the top advantages for your website/blog. With these two, so many people can see your pins and tweets. I don't really know how Facebook works for businesses but I do know some things about Twitter. Learn the domino effect (I think its effect not affect, I don't know. anyways)

If you use Pinterest you know that one pin can be seen by hundred of thousands of people. People that don't even follow you. They can see the original pin that was pinned by you but even more people can see repins. With Twitter, people retweet. When someone retweets something the original tweet will appear with the retweet icon and their name at the very top in small, faded print. So even though they retweeted it, not everyone is going to see that they did it. They will be drawn to the original tweet which was tweeted by you.

Another thing that people will do is quote tweets. To do this they simply quote your tweet and add your account name so people know you tweeted. Every single person has their own individual twitter name (like nobody has the same email) so for example; @conquertheclimb is my blogs twitter name. If someone quotes one of my tweets, my name will be there. People who see the quoted tweet may like it and checkout my account.

Mentioning people on twitter will draw more attention to your account. The door swings both ways; you can mention someone or you can be mentioned. If someone is talking to you they will tweet something with your twitter name. If they are just wanting to give you a shoutout, they may say something like...."Nice post by @conquertheclimb it was a good read for the morning" You can reply to mentions or you can simply mention someone just because they followed you or if they commented on your blog post or ordered something from your website. When you tweet something mentioning someone their followers will see that you tweeted them. Direct Messaging is private so if you don't want it to be seen you can send a DM

Hashtags are also great to use. In Kyles training he talks about using trending hashtags. That is good but I would like to add something. If you listen to The Sixx Sense with Nikki Six you may have heard him talk about #asksixx When he does #asksixx people will tweet their questions for Nikki with #asksixx at the end of their tweet. Some people will also mention Nikki or Sixx Sense but they don't have to. When Nikki want to find the questions that have been tweeted all he has to do is search #asksixx and he can see all of the tweets. There are also websites that track you hashtags for you so that you can see how often they are being used.

One last thing that I want to saw because I'm not sure how many people know about it.

Tweet Deck allows you to easily use multiple twitter account and you have easy access to everything twitter with columns. Grr its not letting me insert the link.
