New Addition to My Family (Hopefully)
His Name is Deuce! But I Shall Call Him Duke!
Isn't he gorgeous? Yes, I am (optimistically) going to adopt this 5 year old boy this weekend. He's had a bit of a rough go of it. He was in a family that didn't want him, he was placed in a shelter, then adopted. Well, that family decided after a year they could no longer keep him for various reasons, so he has bounced around a few times. I will be his 3rd owner.
My current dog is a St. Bernard/Rottweiler mix and I believe the 2 will become excellent friends. My plan is to take them to the beach for swims as frequently as possible and I am over the moon about it! Rottweilers are so amazing, such fun and eager to please. I just cannot wait to meet him. I won't sleep until I do!
Updates to come!

Update on Duke: I had a late Saturday appointment(5 pm) to go meet him and take him home if all went well.
Sad to say, the previous appointment holder was able to take him.
It's not sad per se, he was able to go to a home the owners chose a fit for him.
I'm hoping and praying this works out for him. I swear if he shows up in a shelter or another rescue, I'm gonna lose. I did tell the owners that I am big dog, Rottweiler, trained. plus a former veterinary technician in the Army,
I just do not have a good feeling about it in my gut. I'm not gonna lie, I cried for a long time about this. I'm still super sad, a cautiously optimistic. I just hope my gut feeling is way off base.
It's a sad day in my house,
