Do you know what the oldest marketing technique is?

It’s storytelling…

Storytelling has always played an instrumental role in marketing, and in social media it is more relevant now than ever.

Do you use storytelling in your marketing?

If you don’t, you should.

Here are 4 good reasons why:

𝟭. 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 - Honestly, who doesn't love A REALLY GOOD STORY? Good storytelling is such a powerful tool for marketers because it’s addictive. We’ve all heard those incredible stories that suck us in and have us hanging onto every word.

𝟮. 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘂𝘀 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 - As Dale Carnegie said, “When dealing with people, remember you are not dealing with creatures of logic, but with creatures bristling with emotion.” (We would be wise to remember this when writing our next post!)

𝟯. 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗮 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 - There is something magical about stories that cannot be found in any other form of communication. They instantly let you transport your audience to a new and interesting world of possibilities.

𝟰. 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗰𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝗶𝘀𝗲 - Stories are relatable. As humans, we’re hardwired to look for things we can instantly connect with. On social media, you only have a few seconds to capture someone’s attention, and opening with a story is a great way to do that!

All things considered, storytelling is a VERY powerful tool that allows us to form deeper connections, and it would be a waste not to use it.

Telling relatable stories to your audience can give them a glimpse into you, your brand and your mission.

If you want to build trust, learn to master the art of telling a riveting story.

I totally agree. Koda, are you by any chance a member of Toastmasters International?

Storytelling is considered one of the best ways to communicate when giving speeches. For exactly the same reasons you mentioned above.

That's what I also recommend when I discuss writing content with anyone.

Storytelling does not come naturally to many. It is a skill that can be learned.

Here is a training module on writing content using the Wealthy Site Content tool. In the end, I emphasize the importance of using a storytelling style. I'd be honored if you read it and gave me tips since I wrote this three years ago. Edwin

Good morning Koda,

Thank you for your blog post.

Your blog post is interesting as recently I was talking to a successful Internet marketer and she was telling me how often she uses stories! I know that for a fact as I receive her newsletter.

I hear you big time with your four points, I believe by hearing regular stories it feels like we actually know that particular person. Which in turn, builds trust! In fact, this is true as I have actually purchased from this particular Internet marketer! Through her stories, feels like I know her really well!

And as you mention, these are not special stories, just everyday things that happen.

Have a great day.

Roy

This is some great advice, and an awesome perspective I hadn't considered thanks Koda!

I've always been too scared to tell stories on my sites, as I'm scared I'll dribble on too much etc, but that kinda just IS how I prefer to write, in a more open, free manner.

Thanks again, I'll definitely be keeping this in mind creating my next posts. :-)

Good stories will always bring forth the right frame of mindset for our audience ... let us learn to tell a good story to entice our audience to want to read further ... stay safe stay well ... cheers ... Michel
