Lazy Load Plugin - My Number #1 Recommendation

Site speed issues - Many of us struggle with them, and I have also struggled with site speed a lot. It takes a lot of research and testing to find out the best site speed solutions for your website.

So, I thought I would share with you one plugin that has worked for me. This is the best lazy load plugin in my experience. Now I know that after trying several plugins.

What Is Lazy Load?

So, a lazy load plugin basically loads only the images on your website that are on the visitor's view area. Normally, all images on the page are loaded at once, which causes the page to load slowly. If you use a lazy load plugin, only the images visible to the visitor are loaded, which improves site speed.

As you know, images often slow down websites a lot, so image optimization (compression and lazy load) is important.

Not all lazy load plugins are the same. Some lazy load plugins cause problems with image loading; the images don't show properly and even the images in the view port are loading slowly.

Also, some lazy load plugins do better job than others. Not all lazy load plugins have managed to improve my site speed much.

If you have videos on your website, videos can also slow down your site. Then you should use a lazy load plugin that also works for videos and iframes, not just images.

The Best Lazy Load Plugin? - My Number #1 Recommendation

So, the best lazy load plugin? As a disclaimer, I am NOT affiliated with this plugin in any way. I'm only sharing my personal experience. This may not be the best plugin for everyone, but it's the best I have tried and it has worked best for me.

The plugin is called a3LazyLoad. It's a free WordPress plugin. This plugin lazy loads images, videos and iframes. It's also compatible with WooCommerce. The more content you have on your site, the better this plugin works.

So, if you have lots of content on your site and especially if you have videos too, this is the lazy load plugin you should try.

I think this is the best lazy load plugin because:

  • It works for videos and iframes too, not only images.
  • This plugin has improved my site speed score most out of the lazy load plugins I have tried.
  • It doesn't mess up my site; my images still show normally when I use this plugin.

So, I hope this helped you, in case you're struggling with site speed and image optimization.

Please share your experiences with lazy load plugins / image optimization / site speed! Which plugin (if any) have you found the most helpful?
