My 3-Weeks Experiment With YouTube

How's it going? Time really does fly. 4 days of the 365 for 2025 is gone! Yeah, time is the most precious resource. Just some random thoughts.

I wanna share my YouTube experiment. See, I’m not active on YouTube. I’m more old fashioned, sticking to my blogs. Lol. A couple of friends say blogging is dead, and they’re more on social media but AI has transformed the landscape.

December 10, I decided to try out YouTube. Coz I wanted to find some engaging ways to teach my 8-yo grandchild some values, life lessons, etc, during the Christmas holidays. And both of us learning Together was fun 🤩

So we started a channel where we posted YouTube Shorts “Did You Know? Fun Fact for Kids” stuff - about nature, animals, birds, sea creatures, etc.

We used AI to generate Shorts. Very few or no views. So by Christmas Day December 25, we decided to post short kids stories and lessons from Childrens’ Animated Movies starting with Moana.

Here’s the results from 15 short videos (excluding Shorts):

Watch Time - 99.2 Hours

Views - 4,450

Impressions - 108,400

CTR - 2.5%

Subscriptions - 28

Unique Visitors - 3,350

Like I said, this is my first time to try out YouTube, like posting content.

I employed the skills I learnt here at Wealthy Affiliate - especially in writing keyword rich descriptions and from understanding SEO, target 🎯 audience, etc and wow! I myself could not believe the surge in traffic.

With the advent of AI, there’s so much content being generated and I think we must still humanize our posts , by adding interesting content. At least that was my experience.
