Thirty-Fourth Month of WA - Discipline Unlocked

In contrast to my past few months, it felt like forever for May to pass, and that's a good thing. I've been making so many new developments that it seemed like a couple of months had passed. I've been doing a lot, and I'll only be doing more.

As always, here's last month's post if you're interested: Thirty-Third Month of WA - Can I Get Back To Blogging?

Let's jump into what has been going on with me recently.

Becoming An Ultra-Rich Super Real Estate Mogul?

Okay, let's slow it down a notch. I still can't fully help people buy or sell homes as a licensed REALTOR® yet, but I'm super close.

I just need to take one more course from my city's real estate board next week Friday, and I will be fully ready.

In the meantime, I have been working on various projects related to real estate and doing some things to set myself up for success.

Some of these things include taking courses on sales and marketing and building my initial online marketing infrastructure.

One of the things I've been working on is a media website focused on producing content related to architectural design, real estate agents, and real estate investors.

I know, I know, I have too many ambitious blogs. From previous experiences, I know it isn't easy to build ten successful blogs on your own.

The emphasis is on your own. Currently, I write exclusively for all my blogs. And because I have seven websites, none of them are successful. Writing once a day would only average out to four blog posts per month for each blog, and that's not considering that I have been having a ton of trouble consistently publishing.

So knowing how difficult it is to build a major brand all by yourself, my new media website, Realchitecture, will involve more people. I'll be creating a Wall Street Journal or Medium, not a personal blog.

Another big goal I have is to buy out many blocks in a neighborhood and build apartments. In particular, I've been looking at my city's redevelopment plans and found that one community where my parents already own a house in has many spots rezoned for mid-rise apartment buildings.

I plan to buy out the four to five blocks around the LRT stations and build multiple mid-rise apartments totaling at least 500 units. It's a huge dream, but my family and I are taking steps to reach it.

Last month, my mom also bought another duplex. When we are fully finished with the financing conditions, my mom will be involved in 6 doors with two duplexes and two houses.

Additionally, we're planning to redesign and renovate one of our houses and put it on the market for a couple hundred thousand dollars over one million. I have been working on some CAD skills to create the drafts and renderings needed for the project. If we're successful, then we can buy more houses/land and repeat the process.

But what I'm most excited about is the 85 unit apartment building my real estate mentor has put me on. For the next two years, there is an 85 unit apartment building worth approximately $85 million being constructed, and my mentor is the one selling all the units. Once I fully get my license, I'll be working with him to sell the entire building.

This is a huge opportunity to earn a lot of money and learn a lot about apartments and condos.

Unlocking My Work Ethic

Big goals and dreams. What else am I doing to reach those goals?

In my last month's post, I talked about how moving stuff with my dad for 8-10 hours every day made me realize that I had a lot more energy than I thought.

And so, I began pushing myself a little harder in May to get more done.

One of the highlights of May 2021 is how I've been building/rebuilding habits. For the last three weeks, I have consistently published an article on Medium and a gaming Instagram post every day. Over the previous five days, I have also been consistently getting a bit of exercise every day.

My strategy is to build these habits slowly and eventually reach a point where I'm doing a lot every day, but it doesn't necessarily feel like it.

I started blogging on Medium, and once a few days passed and I became comfortable writing and publishing something every day, I added posting something on my gaming Instagram. Once I was comfortable with both tasks, I added in exercise.

Once I'm comfortable doing all three tasks every day, I'll add something else. And it'll keep going.

Truthfully speaking, I had a tough time building these habits before. I used to get distracted easily and then fail because I was too "tired."

Nowadays, even when I feel tired, I still push on and get things done.

I credit a lot of these changes to my real estate mentor. By becoming a part of his mentorship program, I found myself constantly motivated all the time.

This is because I don't want to let the people around me down.

My real estate mentor and his assistant have become the people I talk to the most outside of my family now. Both people are very hard workers, which has pressured me to do more. I don't want to be that lazy guy and disappoint them.

Thus, I noticed my discipline has become much better. If I say I'm going to do something, I actually get it down now.

The Goals of June

For June, I'm primarily focused on continuing what I have been doing with my habit building. I want to target most of my effort on my work related to real estate, especially as I'm getting my license very soon.

One of the things that I will focus on is building my personal brand. I'll be getting some professional pictures done and then building out my personal website and social media.

Like I mentioned above, I will also be creating a website for real estate-related content. Although I talk about how I'll work as hard as possible to get listings and deals done, I honestly don't know what my success rate will be.

Having a website that generates income from ad revenue and affiliate marketing that complements what I'm doing in real estate will be awesome. That's one of the things I really want to build out.

Additionally, I'll continue taking courses on various subjects because I'm on a lifelong road of self-improvement. I haven't given up on my ventures just yet, but I intend to build systems that allow other people to grow my businesses rather than them being one-man shows.

But that's over the long-term. In June, the focus is all on real estate.
