Where i'm at with the search engines

The primary rankings tool I'm using now is Serps.com. It measures Google and Yahoo, but not Bing. Yahoo is finally starting to make a few gains although it's far short of where Google has me ranked. Like Google it's starting to rank me on specific chess clock or chess computer products although it's ranking me much worse than Google.
With respect to Google, the evidence I'm seeing strongly suggests it's not just how many affiliate links you have but where you put them that counts. Moving them a long distance from the top of the page appears to help.
Google seems to punish Amazon links more severely than ShareaSale links. A common practice with Amazon links which I also use is to get the code to place a rectangular box with an image and a "shop now" button on the bottom of the rectangular box. That type of link seems to get you downgraded more than other types.
Preceding a row of Amazon affiliate links with a "Product Review Summaries on Amazon Products" section seems to reduce the extent to which Google will penalize you for the links. I simply provide an overview of what the Amazon reviews say without quoting a specific review anywhere.
