Write a Blogpost in 20 minutes or less? Worth it?

Hello Everybodies!

This blog is more like a blog/question mixture thing, because I want to express my idea AND at the same time I would love to read Your opinions on that topic.

What would You say?
Once You have a website up and running, is it better to write for instance everyday rather low quality-blogposts, or should You only write a blogpost if You have a REALLY good topic to tell the world about?

IMHO - My humble opinion:
In my opinion, as a blogger-beginner You should write blogposts on a regular basis, whatever regular means to You (once a day, once a week, once a month, but rather once a day I'd say). Write down Your thoughts about a certain topic. Don't think too much about highest quality phrases. Get used to blogging and write as if You would tell a story. Use "LOL"s, Smileys, "HaHa"s, do little rants if You feel like ranting, make paragraphs, use pictures to express Your mood and so on and so on...

I know there is Mr Great Google ranking You or not ranking You if Google bots don't like what they "see" on Your website. BUT I experienced it in my case, waiting for the right moment to finally start blogging, isn't taking You anywhere near suXess as well.

What are Your thoughts on this?

Waiting for the right moment and only writing highest quality blogposts (which may not happen at all) or writing openly what comes in Your head (about a certain topic of course) and at least train Your habit to blogging?

Cheers to Your suXess,
Kay

Write quality content but you really wouldn't be a "blogger" if you were posting once a month (I've been there Lol!). At least twice weekly. Your tips are great. Share what's in your head and make it useful. Great post!

Awesome Mimi and thanks for commenting. Right with everything You said.

Kay

Writing good content,

Thank You Anthony.

I think that writing a quality blog is necessary. By quality, what I mean is to make it interesting to readers. If you are honest with yourself, would you be happy reading the blog? Be yourself! Readers will get to know YOU, trust you and like you. Once they do, they will look forward to your posts.

Yes, very good point of view. Have the reader in mind when writing an article, definitely! Many thanks to You!

Kay

Yeah...I also think it's necessary to combine ...that is to be yourself and try to follow the certain rules. it's difficult, but in it there's the essence of this art...)

It's definitely an art, You are right. And yes, combine fun AND well researched content would be best in the end.

Thank You very much for contributing here.
Kay

I have to say that content is King, so a mixture of both. Write down whatever comes into your head and then go back to it to refine, add extra, move things around, spell check etc. etc. BEFORE you publish :)

Yes, very well said. I appreciate Your comment very much!

Well, of course "starting" blogging or article writing, either one, is the thing. It's the start that's difficult, I think. So anything that gets us into the _practice_ of starting is a good thing. I was an extremely fast runner in my youth. However, I was never personally coached even through high school. And that means I wasn't coached to get off the block fast. This cost me in a major race, where the competitor had obvious practice in getting off the block like lightening. So that's where I'm coming from, when I say, practicing "starting" is good!

That said, I like meaningful, well researched articles. Those are mostly the only ones I read; because my time is short, and I don't want to spend it on fluff or small talk. If the article is good, I'll read to the end, or at least skim-read to get the high points.

Your responses will vary on this. As to Google, their idea of an authority site is one with well researched articles.

One way to get going is to just start researching what you were thinking about for your topic. Bookmark stuff, copy quotes and type their attributions below them; then review everything you have and put it all together. Doesn't have to be long; just needs to make a point and/or pose an ultimate question to visitors (to get some interaction). I put all of my research in a folder, in case I need it for later.

Knowledge is not new; so don't worry about writing about something "new". NASA can write about something new. Some science journals can write about some new discovery. But most things are old, including "news". Just add a different twist or question it. :D

Good question, btw! I've fought with this myself.

Fran, thank You for Your very detailed answer. Yes, I agree with many points You say. I like the idea of creating a folder and putting links and stuff I've found online into this folder.

Of course the article You write HAS TO be of some value at least and of course You must be able to make a point in any capacity with Your article. All I am saying, is not to research too much and never get to actually start to write.

All the best to You!
Kay

Yes, I agree. It's so easy to get bogged down in the research. You make great points.

I like this post because I fall under that kind of person who keeps delaying writing posts because I needed to do quite extensive research first on a topic. Usually in the end, nothing has ever eventuated. Will definitely try writing what comes up in my mind which sounds good!

Cool, I am glad I inspired You!
Kay

A blog site must be updated on a "regular" basis or your readers may not be anxious to revisit it. Like you said, regular, could be different to everyone but I would try for at least weekly. If you "hitting the wall" for ideas you might want to visit my WA blog. Wishing you great success.
Jude

Thanks Jude. Very true, everything You said.
Kay

I really think it has to be whatever suits you best! :)

Ok, good answer! Thanks.
Kay

You're welcome :)

If you get the urge then go for it!!!

Yes, that's what I would say.
