My First Blog and I am Using Grammarly.
Today I spent some time going back over my first four lessons in Affiliate Bootcamp. I have not been on this site much since March 2015. As a special education teacher, this is our busy time. During this period, we have to write new IEPs (Individual Education Plans) add new Annual Review information (such as where the child was at the beginning of the year and where they are now). Then after this paperwork is complete, we hold conferences with parents and regular education teachers to discuss any positives and any challenges moving forward to the next year. After hours of typing on a computer for several days a week, I did not want to come home and get on a computer. So when school was out, I decided that I would get back to WA and get this done in a couple of months that I have off. Today we are dealing with lots of rain due to Bill spinning over my location, in fact, it is just starting to taper off.
My blog, you may ask since it seems as if I am rambling..LOL, I squirrel all the time. I hope this blog can help any and all those out there that are uncomfortable with writing (I am in this group). I have found a great app or an extension called Grammarly. Some of you may already know of this wonderful tool. I have used the free version at school during the last few months of school, mainly for correcting errors in emails. The program lets you know how many errors you have in your writing. It includes more than "250 comprehensive spelling, grammar, and punctuation checks". Today I upgraded! I am glad I did! As I am writing this blog, I have 13 critical errors, the free version will not correct these mistakes. It is not a perfect system, but the English language is not perfect either. However, the paid version will not correct fragmented sentences or a long run on sentences, yet does let you know where you have them so you can fix the problem.
" Google Crome users may write clearly and confidently on Gmail, Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Tumblr, and anywhere else on the Web by downloading Grammarly at no cost from the Chrome Web Store." The green dot with an curved arrow shows up as a pin next to your browser and works, so far, on any page you have open. How cool is that?
For me, this is a life saver. I can write and then instead of me spending time trying to find mistakes, Grammarly, will do it for me. I would recommend the paid version, you get more help with your grammar. If I knew how to add a screenshot I would, I still have a lot to learn.
Here is the website to the FAQ of Grammarly: Check it out and see if this tool can help you, as it has me.
