I Confess ~
I Suffer From S.O.S. - Shiny Object Syndrome
"Oh! This looks interesting."
Working at home has MANY Benefits, but it also has MANY Distractions. Although they adversely affect our work, some of the distractions and interruptions can't be avoided, like changing baby, paying bills, doctor visits, etc.
However,
Many times WE CREATE the distractions that set us up for failure. With all the technology that is available in our world, we too often attempt to multi-task. But instead of being more productive, we have only created an environment where we "Techno-task ourselves into Mayhem!"
And I confess,
that since I suffer from S.O.S., even when I eliminate the outside distractions and sit by myself, with nothing but my computer, since my work is based on the Internet I am in danger of being entangled by zillions of Shiny Objects!
OH! What a wicked web they weave!!!
- I receive pop-ups from news feeds that I just have to read,
- Facebook sends me alerts.
- Then, if I dare check my e-mail, I am inundated by inticing, glittery messages that I can seldom resist.
SO,
I open them and, of course, I click on the link to see what the New Shiny Object will be.
All of these things simply waste my valuable time!
Therefore,
TO
ALWAYS WEAR MY SUNGLASSES
AND
HIT THE DELETE KEY!!!
I hope no one here EVER has to suffer from Shiny Object Syndrome,
But if you do, PLEASE, follow my advice and remember these words of wisdom:
"All that Glitters ISN'T Gold!"
And, just like Tootle:
"Stay on the tracks, NO MATTER WHAT!"
Wishing you all the very best and
the will to
Until next time,

I think almost all of us are guilty here... even when we know we just end up wasting time. Everyone should take a pledge! :)
