Adsense - what I did wrong

Hi, I just thought I would let you know what I did wrong when I was trying to verify my adsense - as it caused me a bit of frustration and I want to try and spare you this.

After going through the Adsense training, which I followed to the book, I could not get my Adsense to get verified, it kept coming up with error and not coming back with OK etc.. so I sat scratching my head, undoing everything and starting again, trying different themes in case I had put the code in the wrong place, but nothing worked....then I had a light bulb moment - PING - worked back through what I had just installed and found it to be the fruitful maintenance plugin. This was switched on and even when I switched it off it was still blocking Adsense, so I uninstalled it and viola, my site was verified.
