What does your dream look like?
Most of us, when asked, would state the reason we want to work online and for ourselves, without a boss is to 'make money'. Now that's all well and good, but it's too vague. It doesn't give you a specific goal to work towards.
How much money is enough? What would you do with it? Would you retire to another country? Would you help your children have a great start in their adult lives?
When you are more specific with your goals you have a far better chance of actually achieving them. For example, how much money is enough to leave your current position? What are your monthly outgoings? How much do you save each month? If you weren't commuting to the office, what would you save in terms of fuel for your car, parking charges, and suitable office clothing?
Sit down with a pen and paper and work out exactly what you need to be able to tell your boss to 'stick it where the sun don't shine'! Make sure you allow for contingencies such as needing a new vacuum cleaner, or car repairs for example. Be realistic and specific.
If you want to buy a new property in another town, what's the cost of property there? Could you downsize from the kind of property you are currently in to help finance the move? Be specific.
Write all these goals down and work towards them each and every day. And if one idea to make money doesn't work, then...
And if you're already part of the way to achieving your dreams, then sit down and work out some new goals - it doesn't hurt to set yourself new ideas and hurdles to overcome, these ideas will keep you moving forward instead of standing still.
Buona sera from la bella Italia,
Ciao for now,

Love this post! I have been working on a set of goal setting posts in my drafts and I see we are on the same page! Goals have always been difficult for me to set because there has always been someone else setting them for me (bosses or spouse). I am so excited that now I have goals of MY OWN and it is awesome to know that it is my and only my responsibility AND opportunity to achieve them! Very well written and definitely timely! Have a great time in Italy! Stay safe!

Having a nice holiday? Well I just wanted to let you know that I like what you have just written. I have just written something along your lines too but somehow yours feels more colourful. It's all good though. Enjoy the sunshine.
Thank you Andi, we are having a lovely time. It's late afternoon, early evening here so back at the hotel before we go out for dinner. Thanks for stopping by :)
Pensé que iba a España. (I thought you were going to Spain.) Well I guess that Italy is definitely as good.
What does my dream look like? It looks like my bucket list now. I've got a nice home, a great group of friends, an even greater family and a healthy lifestyle.
The only things missing are: 1. my motorhome; 2. time to travel to all those places I've yet to see, and: 3. the almost inexhaustible funds to do both.
THAT'S why I'm in WA. Those three things will come to pass in the next 2 - 3 years. I'm not in a hurry because my family is extremely long-lived and I'm only middle aged (75) by those standards.
I'm loving my life, my family and friends along the way, and making new friends and loving them all as I go.
THAT'S the dream and I'm living it.
That sounds absolutely perfect. Actually to go to Spain from the UK is a lot more expensive than Italy and besides, I feel Italy is my spiritual home lol :)
Second income, plan for the future, save up for college(maybe),. Buy a house for my parents.
Build up a nest egg, when I retire.
Save money up for my future, such as when I have children of my own and their going to college. I then have some $$$ save up for them and give them a lecture.
And go on a vacation and get the bucket list out of the door.
YOU ARE ON VACATION in Italy!!!! Why are you on here writing blogs? I'll trade places with you........................ HAVE FUN, RELAX, ENJOY your surroundings. I'm sure they are AWESOME!! ~Debbi
