Time is the most important gift
Have you spent the last few days/weeks worrying about which gifts you are going to give to your family and friends? Are you constantly worrying about how you are going to be able to afford it all? STOP!
Time is the most important thing you can give to anyone, including yourself. The gift of time cannot be measured in monetary terms - when children grow up they will not remember which gifts they didn't have, but they WILL remember having fun, made-up games and laughter with you.
Don't stress yourself out if you have little money to spend - write an 'IOU' promising to give the gift of yourself this Christmas - maybe offer a loved one a massage or a nice meal to be cooked for them by you.
And give yourself the gift of some quality time out, maybe reading a few books or listening to some music. It needn't cost anything but you will feel better for it.
This should be a time for love and reflection and not for worrying about the bills coming in in January.
Ciao for now my lovelies,

Too many people just write a list of EXACTLY what they want and expect. To me, Jude, your way of thinking is the way to go. When I'm presented a list with overpriced specifics, I give a quick look and start shaking my head slowly in disbelief. Where's the anticipation, the wondering, the listening for hooves on the rooftop? At the 'nosey ' age, about eight and five , my brother and I were trying to catch Santa in the act. Being ahead of this, my mom decided the two of us should sleep on the third floor. It wasn't used much at the time, except when cousins would spend the night. I remember me leading my brother, quietly creeping down a flight and a half of stairs. The halfway point was our personal landing spot - so as not to be seen. We got caught soon enough and sent back to bed. Santa Claus won't come to our house until you're sleeping, we were reminded. We trudged up and bided our time. We gave it another try after thinking enough time went by, but to no avail. Overtired, we snuck (so we thought) back up and dreamt of sugarplums, dancing in our heads - or so they say. In the early morning, we saw that Santa hadn't let us down. As far as how he knew when we were finally asleep, that's Santa's secret.
