Remind yourself why you started

There can be many reasons why it's easy to get off track, moving away from your goals instead of towards them, including self-doubt and fear that you won’t succeed. You may also think that your goals are unrealistic or too 'out there' to ever be able to reach them.
When this happens, you need to remind yourself why you started this adventure in the first place.

If you've been trying to obtain your goal for some time, now is as good a time as any to take time to look at everything you've accomplished so far. All goals take many steps to get to and the road might not always be a smooth one. Just remind yourself of how far along the road you've already traveled.

When you first started, the chances are that you gave yourself a huge pat on the back for every little step forward you achieved - you felt a sense of accomplishment and an 'I've done it' attitude would have swept over you. But as you move forward, you can start to berate yourself for not moving faster and things might not feel as exciting as they were in the beginning.
This is when you start to wonder whether it's all worth it and is the same kind of feeling which people experience year in, year out, when they decide to start a diet or exercise regime in January, (New Year Resolution, anyone?)
Relax - you are simply feeling what a lot of people feel in March. It's understandable and you are not alone. This is the time when you will start to question your reasons and ask yourself whether it will all be worth it in the end.
Well...

Re-write a list of your goals and start ticking off every little step you move that bit closer to them. Re-assess your monthly and long-term goals and set yourself a reasonable time-frame in which to achieve them. Schedule times when you will move away from the laptop and promise yourself that you will not be too hard - give yourself a break for goodness sake! We all need to smell the roses now and again.
Go to bed, have a good night's sleep and start with fresh vigor and zest tomorrow morning. It WILL be worth it :)
Ciao for now my fellow entrepreneurs, Jude.
