Is it normal that people blindly follow you on pinterest?

Okay my pinterest account have just been created, and is like 4 days old. And on the 3rd day I got like 12 followers from nowhere.
I don't know any of them, so that's why I'm asking. I just have some pins of my site and other news and captions I found interesting.
If you have had a same experience please confirm it, I just need to know.
