A co-worker at GE Healthcare looked in pain a couple of days ago. He remarked that he had a headache. I asked him, what gave you a headache? His answer....I don't know.

Many times, when we have a headache we are so miserable we can only think of one thing. Relief! But the solution to our pain is found in the cause of our pain.

Here are 7 of the many instigators of the headache with suggestions to possible solutions. Why only suggestions.....because I am not a doctor and I don't want the responsibility of your failure to handle your aching head.

7 Instigators of the Headache

  • Your overweight - Carrying a bit to much weight can cause poor self-esteem. Take off excess weight by light walking.
  • Your personality - Easily stressed out. Learn to laugh and see more of the positive things of life and enjoy them.
  • Dehydration - Yes, lack of water which helps regulate our body temperature. Increase your liquid intake. Also by eating fruits and vegetables we add more nutrients.
  • You Could Be Hungry - Take a snack break or it may be time to eat a good wholesome meal.
  • Caffeine - You could be suffering from caffeine overdrive. Slowly cut back on your caffeine intake. Personally I would and do leave the stuff alone. Look out for Coke and Pepsi also!
  • Stress - Living day to day and interacting in life brings....Stress. Everyone needs a way to release the stress and pressures of life. This can be done in a number of ways. Take the time to find out what works for you. I love to read, lift weights, listen to Smooth Jazz and I love to laugh.
  • Lack of Sleep - Those sleeping an average of 6 hours tend to have frequent headaches....the answer to this one....Get Your Beauty Rest and Stay Beautiful.

Many things may cause headaches including many serious medical conditions. Be safe. If you have a lingering headache seek professional help.

Nice information!

Hi James I LOVE THAT PIC.

Save it to your images.

Thanks James

Hi James, This information is vital, as we do get too carried away chasing success that we neglect the voice of our body. Excellent post. Daniel

lol this fits me well - I woke up with a massive headache today! Took ibuprofen and paracetamol. I think I got it from too much computer work.

In addition, we have different reasons for a headache which deriving out of the body.
Cancer, migraine, high blood pressure and many other diseases. I'm not a doctor, just thinking early in the morning. :)

Great post James, thanks.

Great post, James. :) I thank I have all the above, lol. Just kidding. :) I think mine is dehydration. :(

My mom drinks a lot of Pepsi everyday, And if she goes hours without drinking one, She gets really bad headaches. I keep trying to get her to drink water with no success.

Awesome post James, Thank you for sharing:)

Thank you! :)

Your welcome:)

I am a purified water person. Once you drink bottled water you can never go back to tap....ugh! :)

I agree, I buy a case of spring water about every other week. If i run out I'll run to the store. I refuse to drink tap, Like you said ugh!

I totally agree with you, but I need my coffee :) lol

I get my kick from purified water and protein drinks. :)

Very nice article....ha ha, I see I'm not the only one with this picture! I l ove it, used in tweets and various posts in Blogger before.... :)

It reminds me of life pushing you down and it inspires me to keep getting up.

Exactly, previously I used it for a few articles about how life may seem to feel and how to get that hand out of your face! Many times, it is your own hand....
