The Importance of Finding the Right Theme

Just a quick post to share my latest lesson learned!

DO put in quite some time and effort to find the perfect theme for your website.

I did this today and I'm finally beginning to think my website looks attractive.

Test out many different themes before settling. I ended up with MAGAZINE 7 and it's great for my niche.

Don't underestimate how important a good looking site is. If your site looks unattractive you will probably be declined by Google Adsense which I was yesterday, probably because of lack of content but definitely also because my site looked like it was under construction.

When I create another website in the future I will do this step earlier in the process.

I feel that I learn so much every time I'm online here on WA and thinking back 3 months ago I would never have thought that I would be a close to full time member of this community.

That's it for today!

You're welcome! :-)

A suitable theme is more than just aesthetics. It should make it easier for you to manage your site too.

3

I agree and this new theme I changed to did all that. :-)

You are absolutely correct, the design is as important as the content. Also, do not feel bad about being declined by adsense, been there, done that, I still get rejected sometimes.

2

Thanks for sharing your experience with Adsense. They are tougher to satisfy than I initially believed.

They are, but generally the issue is lack of content, short posts or lack of proper legal documents (TOS and Privacy Policy being the main elements).

And sometimes it's just the person reviewing the site. I once got "declined", waited 2 weeks, resubmitted the site (no changes made) and it was accepted.

Of course that does not always work, it didn't last time I submitted a site. That one, it has me stumped, they say it's a pre-made website....I think the theme must be overused or something because the content is 100% unique.

This gives me grey hair. :-)

I hope that your site will be approved very soon. I'm gonna resubmit when my site hits 30 articles (I'm on 13 right now).
