A Week of Non-Productivity.Ugh!

I have been very unproductive this week, at least as it pertains to Wealthy Affiliate, and I feel as though I've set myself back. Although I've been productive in other areas, I feel as though I'm currently failing here, and I'm very dissapointed in myself!

It can be challenging to post new content within a given niche every day, and the more narrow the niche, the more challenging it becomes to keep posting fresh content. I believe some of the training I have not yet undergone addresses how to reuse some of you existing content, so perhaps that will be helpful when I get there, but for now I feel very uninspired in generating new content for my site.

Part of the problem this week is that it's been particularly hectic for me. I work a full time job from my home office currently, so that takes up a lot of time. Throw in an energetic 2-year old that requires a lot of attention while my wife is in class, and it becomes a recipe for stress and chaos! Plus, I've had some job interviews to fit into my schedule, and I have more next week, so I don't see an immediate end to my lack of focus on WA.

Has anybody else had such issues? How do you overcome challenges pertaining to scheduling time for your website content and/or feeling uninspired? I turn to you because one thing I've found is that the support of this community is unlike any other I've come across as it pertains to building a business and a brand.

Thanks everybody!

You are correct, the videos will continue taking you into new areas to answer your doubts/questions. Keep going.

Thanks for sharing a feeling that most of us will relate to; at least I do. You have been productive in other areas, and I would take strength from that to continue the productivity in the WA work.

A work schedule that I stick to has helped me. Draw one up and try it for a week. If you are able to follow it for three weeks, the habit has formed. I think it is true that a habit forms in 21 days. I have struggled with this, but I have always tried again, until there is success in the formation of the ritual.

All the best
Mojalefa.

Excellent advice my friend! Thank you for sharing it.

I can totally relate to what your going through right now. I am a little less than 3 weeks into the WA lifestyle and fortunately I have had lots of extra time thus far. Since, my day job is very seasonal, in a certain sense, all of that is fixing to change.
I will be working 70 hour weeks and will only have every other weekend to truly have some uninterrupted time to dedicate to content creation. I will find small time slots here and there somehow just to keep moving forward.
I think the most important thing is that we don't stop. There will be setbacks but we must keep moving forward even if its only at a snails pace.
Good luck my friend!

Best of luck to you too! 70 hour weeks are no joke. I've been there before.

Hi Jryd, I think most of us go through the same thing at times. There are times when we have to take care of other responsibilities. The good thing is, that there's no time limit. Do what you can, when you can. Although, it is good to do some kind of writing each day. As far as not knowing what to write. Believe me! I feel you! My suggestion is, that sometime it's good to walk away, and come back to it when you are refreshed. When you have a lot going on around you or have a lot on your mind, you can't think. Another suggestion is, to see if you can do some more research on new keywords. That may help you to jump start a new topic within relevance to your niche. I hope this helps a little. Keep the faith. Be encouraged. Keep moving forward. Remember you have the WA community that has your back. You're not alone.

Best of luck,

Kimberly

Great suggestion on the keyword search for content ideas! Thanks for the encouragement!

No problem, you're welcome.

Hey, life happens and their is nothing we can do about that. I am behind most of the time because of things happening that I can not control. Keep your head up and play catch up. When you are doing all you can do, no one, not even self, can ask for more!

Thanks! I appreciate the encouragement!

Yes I can relate to that and used to work it around a hectic schedule while working a job.

Are you doing affiliate marketing full time these days?

Yes and have been for 9 years

Hey, my friend, there will be days like this!

Thanks! It's good to know I'm not the only one that goes through this.

Basically everyone has these issues. There's even an official name for it - "Life"! Don't beat yourself up over this. There's no stopwatch on the process. It's good to set goals; but when time is one of the factors as often as not you'll miss your self-set deadlines. An that's okay.

You are continuing the work. Sometimes you just need time for your family or job. Sometimes your brain needs a break so it can recharge and get inspired again. Whatever the reason, as long as you make it back to work, you're just fine.

Thanks Jeannine! That makes a lot of sense.

Hi Josh,

I'm sure every member here has faced the same situation. Either you think you can't find the time or you're stuck in one area. Your bigger problem seems to be time wise.

There is always a way to come up with time to devote to your business you just have to re-arrange your priorities.

I've had to sacrifice an hour or two of sleep some nights and avoid anything to do with television which I consider a waste of time anyway. Avoid phone calls that waste your time.

Ask your wife to help organize family activities in a way you can devote some time to your WA training. Women are great when it comes to organizing compared to us males.

If you have a hobby you might reconsider putting that on hold until you get your online affiliate business running. It comes down to asking yourself, "what is more important right now?"

Your goal is to eventually make your living online and have the free time to enjoy your life. Everything you can do to get to this point in your life will come down to sacrificing something now.

Whatever you do stick with it, you can do it...

To your success!

Thanks Steve! "Everything you can do to get to this point in your life will come down to sacrificing something now." Sound advice for sure!
