I haven't been on here much...but with good reason. I've been working on my other site, wargamingnewb.com and it's affiliated YouTube channel. Making videos takes a lot of time and I'm trying to keep to one or two video uploads a week. While my website is more a linking to my YouTube channel, I've started writing articles as well.Gotta keep pushing forward.
Took a little break because I felt like I was spinning my wheels a little with AutoRestoNewb.com (yes, a little punny). I'm feeling a little refreshed and will be posting new content up. However, also started a new niche site for my other hobby, wargaming. So, I started up WarGamingNewb.com (see "newb" as my branding across sites) and a YouTube channel that I'll link up to the site.Made a couple of videos over the weekend. Now, just have to work on the site. New things, new awesomeness.
Monday was a great day for getting work done on the site. Two articles/posts up, received my finalized logo for the site. Not bad for a Monday. The week went by quietly, just plugging away at my day-to-day job. Worked a little bit on my website post for next week. Lined up an interview with a fellow Classic Car Enthusiast (which I hope will still happen tonight).Making small bite-sized bits of progress. Also, started looking for a classic car project that I can chronicle on the site. The Holiday
Finally got more content up on autorestonewb.com. A small monkey off my back. Have a couple more articles in the works so maybe before the holiday weekend. Also, got back the final revision for my site's logo. Logged onto my Twitter account (@autorestonewb) and noticed that @OfficalACDelco gave me some love. Promptly retweeted and thanked. Not bad for a Monday.
Earlier in the week, I lamented my lack of progress on the site. I felt a little listless, a little lost. Boy, what a difference a week can make. Got some content written up, need to clean up the rough drafts. Also reach out to a graphic artist to get a vintage design for my site. This is what she came back with:Now, I have to choose which one I want to use. I'm leaning towards the second, but I love both designs.Thoughts?
Things get in the way: life, work, anything and everything. This sometimes leads to frustration. Especially, when you have a passion for something and you're unable to spend time cultivating it. This has been the past two weeks for me. Leading up to a mini vacation, a serious family problem came up that has changed the dynamic in which I live. There's a bit of sadness there and it hangs over me with everything that I've been doing since then. But, sometimes, through adversity, a spark of motivat
So, based on my time, I sort of set my bar high in regards to the amount of content I wanted to post. Three updates a week. Seems reasonable. Unfortunately, the reality is more like one update a week. It's not for lack of enthusiasm. My niche, Classic Car Restoration (from a Newb's perspective) is near and dear to my heart. Timing, on the other hand, IS my current challenge. Working full time, helping my girlfriend manage our family. Life.Result: One content update a week. But, I remind myself e
So, I'll need to be honest. There was a good week there where I didn't touch my site. Had the kids one weekend, had a date night last weekend. AND THEN, I got stuck playing the Divison the last few days. Needless to say, I fell off the horse.BUT, last night, I started writing up content again, working on social media (mainly twitter), going through my affiliate programs, reaching out to some buddies about doing interviews with them for my site.I got stuff done and I'm back on the horse. It's ki
However, I just need a shot of motivation injected into me. I have content that's almost complete that needs to be edited and posted. I think once I get that done (this weekend), I'll be back in the saddle.I don't know what it is about short weeks that just seems longer than a normal week. But, I feel my motivation rising. Just need that little push.
Got a little sidetracked because of the Holiday weekend AND having my kids for said weekend. A little bit of doubt and frustration set in, but it's a new week and its time to stop feeling that doubt and get back on the horse.Momentum will keep you going and so I hope it does for me.
