Alzheimer Dementia Check/Puzzle
What an experience the last 4 weeks have been. Several years ago I learned a little bit about website development (also using WordPress), but joining WA is one of the best things I have done. The support in the group is fantastic.
During the training I chose Alzheimer Dementia as a niche and refined that into Alzheimer Prevention. The reason I am passionate about this - I have a greater than normal chance of developing this disease based on genetics. I have it on both sides of my family - and as I am approaching 60 - this issue is becoming more important for me every day.
Initially I did start out with a need to create some income as well - and I do see opportunities in the future. But as I started to ask for critiques during the course - it became obvious that many people often know family members that are effected by this debilitating disease and that prevention strategy may help many more people - other than sufferers themselves. I was very encouraged by some of the early feedback.
So then I started talking to family and friends about what I am doing now. Even more encouraging feedback. I know that this is a horrible disease - I have witnessed many of my family suffer from this - so I have been studying this disease for more than 6 years now and even participated in a study at the University in Amsterdam (when I lived in Holland).
Now I am really encouraged to make this website as a general service for both sufferers and also for family members to help them cope with their suffering parents, grandparents, uncles or aunts. As we are all getting older - this disease will only grow and more people will display the symptoms.
I really covet your feedback on the site so far. I have used a responsive template so that it looks OK on both a PC and an iPad. Obviously I now need to find more suggestions for affiliate links and also more competitive keywords so that the site starts to rate in Google.
Comments on the website itself are preferred - but any feedback and suggestions for improvements or topics that you may have will be very welcome.

You've done a lot of excellent work there John. My personal observations are that the site is dark. Dark is down, light is up as I see it.The font seems very square or blocky in the headlines and in the text to small. These are design things, not the content which is excellent and can be further developed. Well done.
I would prefer a larger font for the navigation items and slightly lighter gray too.. to increase visibility for those with sight/access issues.
Statements which are absolute do not hold true in my view: "the most..." has to be backable by evidence, and "will bring" is also definitive, legally speaking I think you might want to leave a bit more "wriggle room"
I am directly affected in the form of my father (at least he used to be) by this disease. Or rather what passes as common acceptance of this disease. Alzheimers is used as an umbrella term for dementia, of which there are myriad forms, so you might want to provide links to other places which cover dementia as a whole or confirm your narrowing of perspective to Alzheimers exclusively.

Thanks for the very constructive comments Andy. Will review comments where wiggle room is needed and will also list all my sources on the About Us page. Needless to say I do not make this up - I have been studying this for more than 6 years - simply because I am a very high risk case myself.
Dementia is the common term - Alzheimer's is the most common form - around 75% and then comes vascular dementia which is another 10%. I have studied the other forms as well - but the occurrence is much lower. Apart from the university study - I am using about 15 different sources for the information at the moment.

I like your site a lot. This disease is terrible, I have worked in nursing homes most of my adult life. Maybe give links to resource agencies. As far as affiliate links, not sure. Maybe with some health or wellness magazines?

Thanks Gypsy - in my prevention I have started with exercise - and in that section I have included a link to an exercise program. Perhaps I can find more like that.
