Your website hosting can be here and your domains can still live in hostgator. You simply point those domains to WA servers and then you’ll be able to create a website on those domains (even though they don’t Live here).
For instructions, go to Site Domains and scroll down the Other Domains:
You can point domains registered outside of Wealthy Affiliate to WA Servers and host your websites. To do this update your domain's DNS at the following nameservers: ns1.mywahosting.com ns2.mywahosting.com
Thank you very much, this is exactly what I was looking for. I just couldn't find the dns settings myself. Much appreciated. Have a wonderful day.
Couple more things. I have changed my dns settings and pointed them to WA hosting. Now will my ftp settings remain the same or will I have to get new ftp information from WA? I do quite a bit of uploading and such via ftp. Call me old school if you will. :D I keep thinking I will need to get new ftp information as well as the ability to re create my personal emails like I had them set up at host gator because I will no longer be hosting at host gator anymore.
Yes you will :) I have 2 domains hosted elsewhere and confirmed this. Once domain is configured for WA, you’ll see an option for FTP access. FYI though, WA doesn’t offer C Panel. It’s super simplified here which I like, but something to be aware of if you are used to the over technical options in hosting providers like hostgator.
Thanks again, I had previously asked about the ftp and cpanel. You are correct, I am used to the cpanel but thats perfectly fine. I'm sure i'll get used to a simpler life..lol
YOU WILL :) I did. If you find yourself wanting to do something that you can’t figure out with your website, you can reach out to support here. They are super responsive.
Glad I could help ya :) (To reach out to support, just click on the Help Center located in your left sidebar.)
No, this is "Ask a Question" which goes out to the WA community. Site Support is the WA support team, Live chat is the real-time chat on the right side and private message is DM.
Well, I can't say that I'm shocked I put my support question in the wrong place. Being new I guess I'll just own this mistake. :) I have now submitted a ticket with the support desk for real this time.
Thank you Kim, For all the information and assistance today.
