Close that email inbox
If you're like me, who simply cannot resist opening up any new emails once you see the notification, then this post is for you.
I have learnt that closing the email tab on my laptop when I want to focus on writing (on my website) really DOES keep me FOCUSED.
It's not just a matter of reading the new emails coming in. Some may require action, which I tend to take immediately, hence taking time away from my writing task.
Some emails may lead to a completely different train of thought, prompting me to use the search engines to read up more.
No matter what, it DISTRACTS.
By delaying gratification, I get the greater satisfaction of receiving tons of emails when I check 3 hours from the last time. How twisted is that? Lol.
That's typically how long I take to write a post, without having to constantly glance at that email tab. And that's one hour faster than if the tab was there.
25 hours a day, anyone??
Have a great day ahead, WA family!

Yeah all the "busy work" is a distraction. I turned off most of the notifications here shortly after joining. I check my sites email accounts once or twice per week and personal email accounts about once or twice per month. I get no email notifications from here.
I think there is way too much "noise" in digital life so is good to eliminate as much as possible. But saying that, of course, every person has their own preferences so as long as you have found what works best for you that is what matters.
That's a great idea, turning off unnecessary notifications. But due to the nature of my site being promoting WA, I need to respond to my referrals quickly and stay active on this platform. And yes, the volume of emails from WA can be huge.
It's great that you have found what works best for you.
All the best to all your niche sites!
I'm finding that doing a few emails early in the morning and the others late in the evening seems to work for me. I can't do them all, but at least catch up a bit that way.
Hey Fran, thanks for dropping by. Yeah that's a good strategy too, set aside fixed pockets of time for emails.
You have a great day!

Following you Joo! Saw you at Lilly's and reading about you.
You and I started here, I believe on the same date, Feb 13, 2018;
But you've gotten a lot more done that I!
I struggled to understand, so many things to learn and although I am voracious for information, I had nothing to stick all these new gadgets, definitions, parts and functions to.
I've been faithful to taking the Live Events classes with Jay on Fridays.
I had Congestive Heart Failure 1 1/2 years ago, so was just social butterflying around and meeting people here, and writing back to them. Every bit of writing helps us to communicate better with everyone.
WA is a lovely place where dreams do come true, and dreamers awaken to their highest and greatest possibilities.
Anyways, nice meeting you. Please follow me. I don't want to miss out on Joo's goings and growings :>}

Hi Suzay,
So thrilled that you connected! I haven't actually met anyone who joined WA on the same day! Or maybe I wasn't paying attention.
You have to take it easy, and take care of your health. That's still the most important thing. It's great that you're enjoying the community here and engaging so much with people here.
I'm definitely following you back.
