A little change
Today I decided to do things a little bit diferent. I,m going to create my first website in my own language (Dutch). I had a tough time to make pages in English. I'm stuck for a hole week now because I can't get it right. So this is the plan. I create a website in Dutch that I can use on the internet and than I will ask my bonus daughter (you know what a bonus daughter is? Thats the daughter of my husband. so she is my bonus) to translate the website for me. She studied English at the university so she can help me out.
What do you think is this a good idea?
Have a nice day everbody

Wow! Great idea Joke! You can do thingd by yourself, or can get help. The last is the more sophisticated solution! :)
Way to get creative in thinking of solutions to the challenges, good luck on your work ahead, and I like that a bonus kids sounds better then "step-Kid"
Thank you and we (my husband and I) don'l like step kid either so thats why we decided to name them bonus kids
Hey Joke, great idea, sometimes it is difficult for us dutchies to do all in english. Actually i wonder if there is not a tool for that, to translate a website to another language. Going to find out. Zet hem op, liefs Marion
I use a tool called Babylon. (for English -> Dutch). It does word translation, as well as full text. Generally, it's pretty good. You can load all sorts of different dictionaries (I have installed ones from Van Dale).
With the full text, it is relatively OK, but you still need to go hrough and check that it's acurate.
Hi Mark, super, i just was looking for that. I was wondering how I could translate my site to dutch, bedankt!
Your welcome. Babylon is prima software. It does cost, but fortunately not much. And they are a bit aggressive with the upsell, but if you can ignore that, then it's worth it.
Sounds like a good idea Joke. I recently wrote a blog post in Dutch. Got it 95% right. Some Dutch friends helped with the last 5% - you know: "puntjes op de i's"
If you need help, with NL->ENG, feel free to ask.(I also help a company in Nijmegen with their English translations).

Hi Mark, thank you for the offer to help. In English I also want the "puntjes op de i". If you need help with Dutch don't be afraid to ask.

I think that's a far better way of going about things than relying on something like Google Translate which doesn't always get it right. I love your term 'bonus daughter' - my husband got 2 of them when we got together and he is a better father to them than their own ever was! All the best pushing forward :)

It's probably the best way to go Joke!
Thank you
