Counting Down While Counting Up

I am grateful Christmas is here for 2015,Bright lights displayed for all too see.Snowman and Santa's Filled with air,Trees decorated with all the sparkly wrapped bow-tied gifts underneath.What more do we need?

17 hours too go, Last minute ideas and must to-do's,Meat platters to get from the Grocery Store,Oops I forgot the gravy and warm rolls,I called to have you pick them up on your way over,You said sure,why not.All the warm,special foods the family enjoys are prepared with love and Great Blessings,proudly arranged to feast on with your eyes,I don't know about you but my stomach is growling,shush this too shall pass,Aunty and Grammy said will be eating shortly,We continued watching the game on TV in the warmth of the living room.


8 hours and counting down,As we all sat around the beautifully decorated diner table and got settled amongst all the grateful chatter we quieted down long enough for you too say Grace.It went as follows.

''Before I begin let me tell about this young lost soul.''

''You began to tell us of your ride to the house where upon stopping at an intersection in the roadway,There was a young man probably in his early Thirty's he could have been any age,race,nationality,sexual orientation.He awkwardly held a sign saying may god bless you. I am homeless and starving and would appreciate your help.PLEASE'' You beeped your new car horn to get his attention and gave him what was in your wallet. He said repeatedly THANK YOU,THANK YOU,THANK YOU, You didn't know what to say other than Merry Christmas and GOD hasn't forgotten about you! ''

'' You drove off and started to weep'' Why?

Because you started to count your blessings up to the heavens and back, you declared all that you were grateful for! You didn't want any gifts or praise for what you just experienced,you simply wanted all that came across this young souls path to provide and give him what he needed to survive and enjoy his Holiday to the best of his ability.

We have no idea what somebody goes through to be placed in these situations but,iT happens,I know that I was there to help this young man.Are we good people for shouting out get a JOB! Of course were not,this is one circumstance in a world filled with CIRCUMSTANCES, options and choices.Choose wisely,help often,never forget your blessings.
