Rethinking my wa membership: cost, strategy, and what comes next
Published on April 5, 2026
Published on Wealthy Affiliate — a platform for building real online businesses with modern training and AI.
For over a year now, I’ve been a Premium Plus+ member inside Wealthy Affiliate, paying for access to hosting, tools, and 10 website slots.
But here is the honest part.
I haven’t been paying the full $697/year out of my own pocket.
I’ve been covering most of that cost by:
- Selling a few website slots
- Using WA promotion windows to reduce the price
So in reality, my cost has been under $500/year.
That helped.
But it also raised a deeper question.
WHAT IS NOT GUARANTEED ANYMORE
Looking ahead to July 2026, nothing is certain:
- I don’t know if my current clients will renew
- I don’t know if I will fill the extra website slots again
- I don’t know if I will still offset the cost the same way
So now I have to plan based on uncertainty, not comfort.
WHAT I SEE CLEARLY NOW
Even with reduced cost, I had to step back and look at where my real progress is coming from.
And it’s not my website.
My strongest work is happening through:
- My books on Amazon
- My opinion articles in newspapers
- My presence on Facebook and LinkedIn
That’s where my ideas move.
That’s where readers meet me.
THE REAL ISSUE IS NOT THE PRICE
Even at $500/year, the real question is not affordability.
It is this:

Is this part of my current income and growth system?
Right now, the answer is still unclear.
Because my websites are not:
- Generating income
- Driving consistent traffic
- Or acting as a key part of my book sales
ABOUT THE UPCOMING CHANGES
There’s also talk about WA rebranding to ClickBillionaires, with more features and improvements.
That could be good.
But I’m grounding my decision in one principle:
I don’t pay for what might come. I pay for what works now.
MY CURRENT STRATEGY
I’m shifting toward a simpler, more focused system:
Books
My main engine stays on Amazon
That’s where monetization happens.
Articles
I continue writing for newspapers
That’s where authority grows.
Social media
Platforms like Facebook and LinkedIn
That’s where distribution happens.
WHAT I WILL DO NEXT
Between now and July:
- I will maintain what already exists
- I will not expand new websites
- I will observe whether my cost-offset strategy still works
Then I will decide based on facts.
Not assumptions.
THE DECISION FILTER I WILL USE
At renewal time, I will ask:
If I had to pay this fully myself, would I still keep it?
That question removes all illusions.
FINAL THOUGHT
I’m grateful for what I’ve gained from Wealthy Affiliate. It gave me structure, skills, and a starting point.
But growth also requires adjustment.
Right now, I’m choosing:
- Clarity over complexity
- Output over maintenance
- Systems that match my current reality
