Epic and Memorable Commenting Right Here!
I thought in light of WA's relatively new Site Comments, this post I came across was particularly relevant. I make a habit of commenting on the sites of people I follow in my niche pretty regularly. But I had no idea there was such a science to it!
Did you know:
Using a Gravatar is key; people want to know you, not your business name or logo.
Commenting like you're starting a partaaay makes you stand out. There's no rule that says you must only engage the writer of the blog post. You can bring other commenters into the conversation to start the party. How to do it? Read on!
Using the Ice Water Technique is VERY effective. How do you do that? You find some fun, personal fact from the reader's own website and refer to it in your comment. Learn more by reading on.
Creating double takes, whenever possible, makes you memorable. Jaime Buckley, the fantasy fiction writer who wrote this post linked below, says he does this by staying in the moment of the conversation. He has his TextEdit open while reading blog posts and he jots down his own reactions, thoughts, comments as he reads.
That if you do it and don't mean it, it won't last.
I thought this great post from Jaime was really enlightening. When I finished reading, I felt like I had the tools to be a better commenter, and with the business of successful blogging being about creating relationships and growing them, this is a pretty important aspect to master. Hope it's helpful to you, too; enjoy!

These are some amazing tips. Commenting grew an empire for me... almost single-handedly. -Alexx
that's pretty cool, Alexx. will check out your site. Thanks for, well, commenting! :-)
My previous empire was built for someone else and isn't listed here. I'm starting fresh for me this time!
Thats great. Happy for you!
