When Motivation Meets Overwhelm

I wanted to share something real from my weekend, maybe you can relate, or maybe not, but this is me.

I was so ready to get going, fueled with excitement and ideas! My mind was racing like an engine on full speed. I dove into lessons, tutorials, and community posts, and before I knew it, I felt that familiar feeling creeping in… overwhelm.

It’s amazing how much valuable information and resources we have here at WA, truly a blessing! But if you don’t pace yourself, it can start to feel overwhelming. I realized I needed to slow down, breathe, and remind myself that success isn’t built in a single weekend, and it certainly doesn’t happen overnight.

So, here’s what I’m learning to do:

1- Slow your pace. You don’t have to do everything today.

2- Take breaks. After each lesson, step away for a few minutes, stretch, grab a drink, or do a quick “victory dance” (yes, I do this, lol).

3- Celebrate progress. Every lesson you complete, every new thing you try, that’s one step closer to your goal.

4- Play with what you learn. Don’t rush through it; take time to explore, test, and enjoy the process.

Learning should feel exciting, not exhausting. We’re all growing at different speeds, and that’s perfectly okay. What matters most is that we keep showing up and giving ourselves grace along the way.

How do you handle those moments when motivation turns into overwhelm? Has this ever happened to you?
Do you take breaks, journal, meditate, or maybe just dance it out?
Share your tips below, let’s encourage each other to grow without burning out

Hey Jocelyne,
I agree that all the information, tools and the journey itself can be overwhelming. I like your tips especially how you're saying to slow down and breath. Seems so simple but so hard to do.
When I hit overwhelming phases I might do some breathing and I might take a break, get a drink of water and/or get something to eat. Then go back with intention about what goal I want to accomplish.
Thanks for sharing your process,
Marlinda

Thanks so much, Marlinda, for sharing your process, it’s a great reminder to be gentle with ourselves along the way. 🌿

I do feel overwhelmed sometimes. When that happens I just chose an easy chore and do that.MAC

Hi Jocelyne!

Indeed, the best thing to do is to step away from whatever is making you feel overwhelmed. Take a break and get your thoughts together and figure out what you want to achieve and then take the right steps and do the things that will help you to accomplish your goals.

Have a productive week! Wishing you the vey best !

Kind regards,
Nichola

Thanks for sharing your experience and providing helpful tips to overcome this « overwhelming » feeling! I loved the « do the victory dance » 💃🏻. I take breaks, sometimes too long… 😂🙏

Hi Jocelyne.

Overwhelm is one of the big dangers here at WA. I think most of us will be able to relate. I certainly can.

I have had so many ideas through reading people's posts and am now juggling six different projects. I already had five and then joined the Bootcamp, so that's a 6th and I am not able to keep up with the Bootcamp without neglecting the other 5. So I've had to take a deep breath and re-evaluate what I can and cannot get done.

My best advice would be to just keep moving forward and enjoying what you are doing and enjoying the process. That's what I am aiming to do. Occasionally I simply need to take a day or two and rest, because when I am excited, I often work till late at night and don't get enough sleep.

It's good that you are already aware.

I agree, moving forward while enjoying the process and remembering to take a break makes all the difference. Thanks for sharing Isabella!
