My Journey in Wealthy Affiliate
It all started two months ago. I was on-line pursuing an internet business that had started showing signs of being a scam. I googled the organization with the question, "Is _______ a scam?" I was reading some online responses when I came upon Kyle's review of the organization and introduced me to a different opportunity to try for free. That was Wealthy
,I started the free courses which were very exciting. I started building a free niche website in Siterubix and that got me hooked. By the time I finished the free courses, there was no way I was going to leave this exciting platform. So I upgraded to Premium and bought my own domain for my Siterubix website. The journey was on. But to where? As I began the journey, the destination I had in mind was success, and the signposts that I was on the right road was money. So with that mindset, I embarked on this journey.
In my desire to see the financial signposts as soon as possible, I took a niche that I have very little interest in, but one I thought would bring in the money very quickly. My thinking at the time was that the things I was passionate about would not lead to money. I made my first mistake by pursuing something I had little to no interest in.
My rude awakening occurred about a month into the journey, when I started having trouble coming up with posts. Several times I have struggled with the desire to change the niche, but I am too obstinate. I rarely give up on anything once I get started. So, silly me, I have decided to stick with it until I finish all the certification courses. After that I can start on something else.
With such an attitude, is it possible to progress? Well, I consider myself to be progressing. In fact, if you ask me, I am already a success. You see, I changed the signposts for confirming that I am on the right road. It is no longer money. It is a feeling of satisfaction. And I am really excited and satisfied with my journey so far.
Let me show you why . . .
My 2016 Goals
When I wrote my goals at the beginning of the year, my Wealthy Affiliate Rank was 2340 and my 3-month goal was to get it to under 2000. Now, it is 342. So, I achieved my 3-month goal in less than a month. My 6-month goal was to finish level 4 of the certification courses. Although, I have not achieved my 6-month goal, I am sure I will achieve it in less than a month from now.
My New Goals
Consequently, I was forced to set up new goals. My 3-month goal now is to finish all the certification courses and my 6-month goal is to start and at least finish level 2 of the Wealthy Affiliate Bootcamp courses. I had started the bootcamp courses, did the first course but realized that being a slow learner and taking both certification and bootcamp courses at the same time was confusing me. So, right now, I am just pursuing the certification courses.
What a Journey!
So far, I have not seen any financial sign and it is no longer my main concern, but it is still in the equation. Nonetheless, money does not define who I am and it is not the ultimate definition of my success. I love Wealthy Affiliate and the wealth of knowledge that it has to offer. In fact, I can put it this way, my knowledge, love, and community that I have experienced here in Wealthy Affiliate far outweighs any monetary value that may be available in any other platform. Not that I know any platform in which I would have gotten money faster, but just saying.
It has been an enjoyable journey, so far. I am yet to see and experience more of it.
Bye for now!!!
Joseph

Thanks Joseph... a great reminder to focus on deeper, more fulfilling goals than just fame & fortune
I started the bootcamp and I was wondering not if I could promote WA (cause that's the easy part), but if I'd have any passion writing about business development, websites, etc. All the things we have to write about to succeed. I've only just begun, but my last review was pretty interesting. I'm learning about business as I do reasearch along the way. That's really cool. It's actually extremely interesting as well. Thanks Geoff
Hi Joseph and nice blog and I have seen the changes in you so quickly as you are getting involved great journey is it???
Hi Joseph, I enjoyed your post. I am on a similar course with yours. I think you are right to take all of the courses first, then begin the process of building the site, and advertising, and monetizing it. I believe that we must crawl before we can walk, and walk before we can run. Good luck, Tom
