How to exclude yourself on Google Analitics

I like to follow how many people have been on my website and it makes me happy as I see the numbers rise and I can see how many pages the average person views and such. I came to realize though that at least part of the numbers I was looking at was myself.
I looked for a way to block myself off from it and found options to block myself from Analytics altogether but didn't want to do that to all the people who's sites I visit as I didn't want to kill their joy from their own numbers.
I found a way to block your own IP address off from being tracked on your own website though.
First if you don't know your own IP address go to www.whatsmyip.org and right up the top it will say Your IP Address is what ever your IP address is.

Log into Analytics and up the top select admin.
On the right select Filters.
Select new filter and name it, I just named it "myself".
Make sure the filter type is predefinded filter.
Select exclude.
Change the drop down box that says traffic from the ISP domain to traffic from the IP address.
Enter your IP address and then just press save.
Now your own visits will no longer inflate your numbers. Hope this was helpful :)
