Help! Can Anyone Suggest a Good Subscription Plug-In?

Howdy All! I need a good plug-in/widget that will allow people to subscribe to my blog, will capture their email (to build my list) and also have an autoresponder.
I want to go inexpensive/no-cost to begin. I've considered Constant Contact and Mail Chimp. Would they work? Or, is there something better I can test?
