Re: do not use internet explorer to download links from amazon
I want to bring your attention to the problem I came across with downloading an image from amazon to put on my site. I put the image on my site an everything was fine, I also checked to make sure it was working, two days later it was change to an image I did not put on I contacted amazon and this is the letter I recieved.
Thank you for contacting the Amazon Associates Program.
If you are using the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser with our
Individual Link method in Build Links, please know that there is
an issue in which the image may download as an unknown file type.
After you have downloaded the image, all that you need to do is
rename the image and add a .gif extension. You may also add the
.gif extension when downloading the image in the "Save Picture"
dialog box. At the end of the "filename" prompt just type in .gif
at the end of the image name.
If you download the image from Netscape, it will save properly as
a .gif, as this appears to be an issue only with Internet Explorer.
Again, please note that this issue exists only with the Individual
Linking method.
Please let us know if you need further assistance. Thanks again for
participating in the Associates Program.
