My Life Lessons To Date - What Are Yours

Given that I am a baby boomer, I have learned many lessons in life, mostly from my mistakes. From mistakes comes experience and from experience, comes wisdom. Well, most of the time.

I am starting a journey here in WA, which I find really exciting. As this quote by George Eliot says - "It is never too late to be what you might have been ".

I wrote a letter to my sons a while ago, hoping that they would learn from the many mistakes that I had made.

I hope that it can serve as some inspiration to fellow WA members.

The main points in the letter were that I told them That I was so proud of them how far they had come and through hard work how far they had come.

I asked them to keep faith in themselves because life can be such a rocky road at times.

Above all try and remember we are not perfect, so try and not be so hard on ourselves. If they were not making mistakes, they were not learning.

Try and follow their heart in this life. Generally, this will tell you what is right for them. This is their life, their time. Don't live other people’s dreams for them.

Remember to set goals for themselves. Write them down and make them small at first. Above reward yourself as and when you meet them.

If they did not have goals, we are like a ship without a rudder, just drifting through this life. Most people are unfortunately like this. I was like this for a long time.

I read somewhere a long time ago and I have found it to be so true. Sometimes things don’t turn out the way you plan. Sometimes they turn out even better.
