Entering the time when we reflect what we are thankful for

I know it's a little early but where i am writing from and my time of struggle i feel the need to share my thoughts. As we sit down with family and friends take time to really think about what you are thankful for, aside from the wonderful meal that was prepared and being surrounded by family and friends. Be thankful for the precious breath that you are breathing at this moment for no one knows if it might be your last it is a gift from God that we are able to get up in the morning and take in all the creation that He has blessed us with, the ability to take steps and walk freely into the remarkable joys of what lies before us.

To share that joy with others around you, to look upon the clouds and see the vast domain in which we live and wonder what God has in store for us day after day. For some just being able to awake every morning and thank God for another day of life in this wonderful world He has placed in our path, to walk the precious ground touched by the mighty hand of the living God. Others who like me are struggling just to take a step and fighting sometimes unbearable pain it is a great feeling to know God is right there holding our hands.

The loss of loved ones we remember on days like this for I live every day without the touch and voices of my parents who are looking down on me from heaven and cry for me as they see me battling against my muscles to move forward to a new day. Knowing they can't be there to help and encourage me to keep going don't give up. That is what i am struggling to accomplish, being able be pain free and moving like i used to.

That is why i understand people who have fallen so far down in life that they only see one way out and that is ending their lives to stop the pain of life with a broken and beaten spirit so i don't judge victims of suicide.Because unless you have been to the bottom of life you can't understand.I have been there, I have felt the hands of death upon my heart with no one to turn to. By the grace of God i was lifted up from the depths of an earthly hell brought back from so much emptiness. Now i face a path of pain and suffering from a rehab facility and will not be surrounded by the love of family and friends for i am restricted from alot of visitors..

So i ask my family here at WA to really be thankful for that peace and joy that surrounds you, and not feel sorry for me that's not what i am after i'm after to help you realize that everything around you is truly a blessing and worthy to be thankful for.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND HAPPY THANKSGIVING

LOVE,

Jeffery Davis

Jeffery, you're an inspiration and I love your spirit. We sometimes forget to be thankful for the simple things. We take them for granted. Thank you for the reminder that everything around us IS a blessing and frequently the most powerful and significant ones are free. Take care of yourself. God knows your heart. Happy Thanksgiving.

"Thou which has showed me great and sore troubles shall quicken me again, thou shall lift me up again from the depths of the earth. Thou shall increase my greatness and comfort me on every side"

In everything, give thanks. Be comforted, Jeff! It is well with you.

Jeff, you are such an inspiration. I will keep you in my prayers, that you will make a full recovery soon. Take care and don't over do it. Olive

Bless you Jeff, I met the dark dept of life, and am married to a man who has faced death, together we are blessed and embrace and honor all life on earth, knowing all is One

Thank you very much Jeffery for such an inspirational and encouragiing post. :) Knowing that you are in pain and yet you are always looking at the bright side of things, makes me feel that we are truly blessed and our lives are really in the hands of God.

I especially like what you said here:

"Be thankful for the precious breath that you are breathing at this moment for no one knows if it might be your last it is a gift from God that we are able to get up in the morning and take in all the creation that He has blessed us with, the ability to take steps and walk freely into the remarkable joys of what lies before us."

Thanks again, my friend!! :)

It is great to hear from you Jeff! I hope you will continue to write and share and know that we are here to listen! And to remind you that you are special and you are loved and prayed for! I do understand what it is to be at the bottom, and to have only the Lord to be with me! The Blessing in that is always knowing He is more then enough! God's Continued Blessings, Christa :)

I can not help myself but to cry, my grandmother suffered for years in pain until her father took her home. You are truly a blessing, even though you are suffering in pain you have the strength to write such a beautiful post and think of others. God Bless you Jeff and Happy Thanksgiving to you my friend.

Thank you and i am recovering from my third stroke in my life. GOD BLESS

This is a beautiful post Jeff.

Sometimes I get into a rut of just doing the day to day things and won't think of how lucky I am for a short time. Something always reminds me though, and your blog did that tonight. I used to have a kind of thankful journal, where I would write down a couple of things every day that I was grateful for. I might do that again.

You are a great friend, and I know you will overcome what you are going through.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and all members and their families. :)

Thanks for sharing and I am sending good thoughts and prayers your way.

Thank you my dear friend and this came out from the depths of my heart i have had a really bad day today and i had to write this to overcome my hardship

YES! I find that, especially when I am low and things are going badly, if I make time for reflection, GRATITUDE is what I find most healing.
"I cried because I had no shoes, and then I met a man who had no feet." An old saying my mom had.

Hi Jeffery - never too early to remind us all that, whatever our circumstances in life, we are never truly alone. I'm so happy for you (and US!) that you found this community in your time of need - and I hope that this communion gives you joy and helps speed in your healing.
Nothing can replace a true hug, or the sound of a loved ones voice, but we can be for each other a "virtual" kiss on the cheek when we all need one.
Please write more about your experience - I feel that it can touch so many lives. And thank you for sharing from your heart.

Thank you and i will sharing more as my health improves. God Bless

Back atcha, brother!
