One small step on the internet one giant leap for this Northern girl
Some of my chosen passions has been health wellness and the environment. So many corporations are looking to make a quick buck rather then worry about the environment and people's health. There are so many causes so many reason to educate and advocate for our own personal health and the health of the world we live in. Last summer my community was victim of an environmental tragedy hundreds of thousands of tons of crude oil was dumped into the largest river running through three of our provinces. My home town was left without access to water for two weeks and it completely changed my outlook on a commodity too many people take for granted. I have chosen to look for and promote filtration equipment that ensures the population will always have access to clean and healthy drinking water.

By provinces I presume you live in Canada. With it being the country with the most water ways in the world the potential for these disasters can travel far and wide.
My sister works for an company in Calgary that is looking at alternatives in using oil. When I talked to here about the Deepwater Horizon disaster and found that no indication of a contingency plan was ever done.
We had a spill of the north west of Australia. The company had a plan and most of the spill was contained and the well capped in abut 2 1/2 months.
That shows how planning ahead can help.
