Structure and Organization
Or things that no longer apply now that I don't do the 9 - 5 thing anymore.
I spent over 30 years running to meet other people's schedule. I had to start work at a certain time, so I had to be on the road at a certain time. In my last job, due to issue with parking, I had to be at work effectively 1 - 2 hours before the usual start time. Just for a freaking parking spot.
Now, however, I no longer run on someone else's schedule.
I'm having to learn to organize myself, my time and my attention in a manner not needed in quite a while.
While I can honestly tell you I am better rested than I can ever recall, I am also experiencing the need to walk away from things to recharge.
This last weekend, due to some issues with my site, I let SiteSupport do its job and I walked away for a couple of days. Very little email review, very little reading, no posting. No late night (or early morning) getting up to putter about.
I like to putter on the Internet (a lot) and it is very easy to slip over to WA to see what is going on and do a little something. However, I know what burn out looks like and if my business is to continue I must guard against it. Vigilantly.
As you consider your goals and objectives, I urge you to also look at what is ultimately best for you to meet those goals and objectives. A little Me Time is not a bad idea if it recharges batteries and rejuvenates your enthusiasm.
Thanks to SiteSupport, the issues with my sites are fixed and I am back ready to move forward.

I am a strong believer in ME time! I sit in front of the computer all day, every day, so I have to get away every once in a while. It may just be out to the deck and it might be taking a drive to see what the world is doing since I am not managing it while inside!
Very important post. In order to not lose our 'offline' identity or lose our connection with our family and friends, we must take time to nurture that side of our life as well. Thanks for the follow, will be doing the same.
I totally agree, you have to allow yourself some down-time. Put it on your schedule or to-do list and make it part of your routine.

I'm finding more and more how essential it is to take a break and let the ideas percolate. I admit that when this process first began I was frustrated, but as I began to understand what my brain was telling me, I learned to let myself go with the flow.
I had found myself focusing on one site, one aspect to the detriment to the other site and all the other things I could be doing. Not good.
I'm still figuring things out, deciding what I want to do - and what I don't - looking for new affiliates to work with. I am finding myself wanting to move away from amazon and find smaller companies that are looking to build along with me.
Wouldn't have considered this if I hadn't taken a step away for a bit.
