Hello everyone my name is James Rainey, I have always considered myself as better than average at sports handicapping. I often dream of making a living as a professional gambler. I don't like the term gambler instead I think of myself as a sports investor. Is it really possible to earn a living handicapping sporting events? I understand to break even I only have to win 52.4% of my picks, but to be honest I don't truly know my winning percentage. I am sure it is much lower then I believe. To find out my true winning percentage I have decided to track my picks for the next 30 days.
So what is the 30 Day Sports Betting Challenge? In a nutshell it is an imaginary contest with myself to track my sports betting picks for the next 30 days. I will give myself a bankroll of $50000 and all lines will be what is available at 5Dimes. I will not chase bets if I don't believe that I have an advantage against the line I will not make any picks for that night. That being said I will try to pick 5 games per night. I will not explain why I made a certain bet, I will only list my picks.
My betting strategy: I believe in flat betting. All games that are a play have the same value. I will only bet 1% of my bankroll on any game. By doing this I hope to maintain discipline in money management. Well let us begin:
