The Major Shift in Affiliate Marketing "No One" is Talking About
Affiliate marketing is changing—and if you’re still relying only on blogs to drive your business, you may already feel it. Organic traffic is declining, AI search engines are pulling answers directly from platforms like Reddit, and consumer buying behavior has completely shifted.
But here’s the truth: affiliate marketing isn’t dying—it’s evolving.
In this video, I’ll break down the major shift happening right now in the industry, why traditional “blog-only” affiliate models are fading, and how you can adapt to thrive in the next 5–10 years.
👉 What you’ll learn in this video:
- Why AI search is reducing blog traffic (and what that means for affiliates)
- How videos are becoming the new “entry point” for product discovery
- Why your website should be a hub (not just a traffic magnet)
- How to repurpose videos into blogs that still matter for SEO and AI rankings
- A practical tip for sharing affiliate links in the age of short-form content
- How to build a personal brand that people actually trust
The affiliate marketing landscape has gone through major shifts before, and those who adapt always come out stronger. This is one of those moments. The future of affiliate marketing belongs to creators who build trust, leverage video, and use their website as the headquarters for their brand.
If you’ve been frustrated with declining traffic or worried that blogging is “dead,” this video will give you a clearer path forward.

Thank you, Jack, that's a great video and I totally agree with what you are saying. I actually created a video a couple of weeks ago, saying that video is easier than blogging, although I do embed my videos into my blog post.
It looks like you are very natural at creating video, I hope that you can create some more.
Have a fantastic day.
Roy
OK as someone who is just only really starting even though I have been with WA 2 yrs. You headline scared me, I though OMG to late in the game. But once i watched the video i got excited that it is just taking a new turn. Good video and well explained. yes would love more content explaining how we shift with the times especially using short form content, and the best way to use them in your existing blogs. Thank you
Hi Jack, great video and interesting stuff. Although I wish this weren't the case LOL, I believe you may be right! My question for you is - where to start with video, if you've done nothing so far. It's a bit overwhelming if you have no experience with it. How can I get started now and scale my effort later?
That's exactly the topic I'll be covering next. Everyone who ever started a YouTube channel or created videos started somewhere, and I will be sharing how I got started next. Stay tuned. Probably next week. 😀
Hi Jack
This evolution has been hinted at a few times recently. Thank you for sharing your experience here. It strikes me that I need to figure out a natural sequence of videos (like a funnel) that helps people move towards buying an appropriate product for them. My niche is MMO. Any pointers appreciated.
;-)
Richard
Your focus should be on product tutorials, in-depth comparisons, and actively solving dire problems for people in your MMO niche (Probably how to find leads, how to setup an affiliate funnel, etc - ask AI to search for MMO problems in reddit). Then, for short videos, create product awareness. Solve problems using the product(s) you are promoting. Ask people to watch your longer tutorial.
Do not promote too much on social. On social, build a community. Ask people to sign up for your "newsletter", and through email sequences, you will promote the products. Promote in your longer YouTube videos as well.
Last step is to convert your YouTube tutorials into blog posts. Hope this helps.

Your message is spot on! I really need the basics on how to even get started. Creating videos has been on my todo list for over a year and yet, I struggle with where to start! I feel like I'm making it too hard, but... anything you can help for that as well as video editing. I have a mac - is iMovie a good tool? thanks for everything you do! Looking forward to more content!
My next video will be about creating your first video. 😄
