You are very much right. Like the wise man said years ago, "There ain't no free lunch". It takes much concentrated effort and learning. The better a sight is structured for SEO and profit, and the more traffic you can direct to it, the more you will profit from that site. Study W.A., and build your first site or two. Promote it and see you much you make. Get better at it, and you'll make more. Then build another site. Over and over.

I can relate to your predicament - while it's usually touted as a passive income option, I'm gradually discovering affiliate marketing requires and demands a lot of our time, energy and commitment, which doesn't justify the 'passive income' tag. And this is apart from all the time you need to train yourself to market your online business, while also regularly keeping up to date with the ever-evolving social media.

I know everything requires times and hard work, which we are happy to offer, but the burning question in a lot of people's minds is: "how can one stay in their day job and start earning a decent or minimal regular affiliate income?"

While I don't have an answer to this question, I believe a majority of people making huge claims of 6-figure incomes from affiliate marketing must have started somewhere small and slogged towards success, if they are being honest about their claims.
