A Post a Day

Well, I try to write a blog post a day on my site. I want to keep giving readers a reason to come back, and I want as much quality content out there as possible to attract new people who might be searching for stuff in my niche.

It should not be that hard to write a post a day. I am not working at the moment (at least not in a 9-5 rat race kind of way, I am working my butt off on this WA thing), so I have plenty of time.

But sometimes it is hard. Sometimes the words don't come. Sometimes I focus on other creative projects rather than my website, sometimes I just don't want to, and sometimes I am just lazy. It's that last part we have to be careful of. Giving into laziness will submarine this while endeavor.

So, while I am not always successful in writing a post a day, I do my best, and that is all I can ask of myself. And when I am being lazy and end up not writing something one day, I tell myself that I will write something the next day, and that I needed a chance to rest and recharge because that is the thing. I am treating this WA program as a full time job, and everyone needs a day off now and then. Just because I can pick and choose when and for how long that is doesn't change the facts.

I have already written my blog post for today (on my site) and it feels good. It feels good to reach those little goals, like a post a day, or finding new and good keywords, or making a sale (haven't done that one yet, but all in good time). It's what Kyle means when he talks about there being different types of success and how success breeds success. A post a day builds my confidence, and gets content on my blog, giving me a double boost of success. And if I miss a day here and there it doesn't matter too much because I have already built a lot of what I think is quality content on my blog, and everyone needs a day off from time to time.

Wow, that's a lot of posts. Thumbs up to you for setting that goal and sticking with it. Don't you dare beat yourself up for taking a day off...you won't be much good if you burn yourself out. Great job though!

Getting in the writing habit is the thing. Well done I for the perseverance.

A blog per day is that still realistic? One or two useful blogs per week is more than enough. Goethe, the famous German poet once wrote in a letter: " My Dear, sorry for this long letter but I didn't have the time to shorten it." Sometimes less is more.

Thanks for the ideas.

I do every other day now and I find it works better for me. Thanks for sharing!

One a day sounds good, but is it realistic? Depends on the subject and if you are good at writing. The other issue is research. My plan is to publish 3 per week. However, sometimes it takes me 2 days for research about the subject, then I need to find and work on images. Editing takes some time also.

Having a lot of time helps, but I am having a hard time to get 3 published. This week I need to finish one today to reach my goal. Have not even started with research.

I've thought about doing a post a day, but sometimes I feel like the quality of the post is better if I spend more time doing research and prep. I think with my website being so new a post a day will help fill my site with content.

I agree with you sometimes more is not better sometimes it more about quality!

Quality is key and king. If I don't feel I can get a quality post out in a day, I will wait. But my goal is to do my best to get at least one quality post out there each day. That is just me, though, and I realize everyone's process is different.
