Looking professional

Hello everyone,

In looking at some of the websites folks are working on here, I have noticed that people have fallen prey to one of the problems that I have experienced. That challenge is trying to type too fast in order to get your ideas down before they slip away. For an older gentlemen like myself, that happens a little too often :-). I suggest that if you can't slow down that you reread your writing a couple of times to make sure that all spelling, punctuation, and tense errors are corrected. One thing that I do is review it a couple of times and then walk away and do something else before coming back to look at it one more time, to put fresh eyes on it and catch the last (hopefully) mistakes I have made.

I hope this suggestions helps because I know everyone wants to put forth the most professional image they possibly can.

Regards to everyone,

Rick

Rick, you're not old. And I agree with what you've said. I usually preview my post, and try to read it like a "costumer". Usually I go back at least twice to correct a few things, and then I publish.

Editing a blog is an art we develop - you so right when you say we are in such a rush to click publish and then discover all kinds of errors.
Taking your time is the best possible answer - thanks for reminding us

Good advice. I wrote a blog about making copy attractive. It does matter.

Thinking about getting Dragon software so all I gave to do is talk. Then I will still need to edit like crazy but I do that anyway. Cool Post

That's a good idea. Even back in English class it was very important to proofread (even though I was known for not doing it!) And I sometimes do go over my work. Many times I find myself changing some sentences or completely removing paragraphs because they don't fit in. Good post!
