What is mastery?

I came across a facinating and inspiring small book called ""Mastery"" By George Leonard.

I thought it to be relevant to us all here at WA. We''re all on this journey together and it maybe worth thinking about this journey in terms of "Mastery"! Leonard gives a description in the opening chapter how he sees the definition of the word "" Mastery"..quote.."It resists definition yet can be instantly recognised. It comes in many varieties yet follows certain unchanging laws. It brings rich rewards,yet is not really a goal or a destination but rather a process, a journey. We call this journey Mastery..

It's worth some pondering here for all of us at WA that we too might consider each one of us to be on the path of Mastery!..and as George Leonard points out in the opening chapter..Mastery is not really a goal or a destination but a process, a journey.

So for me (and hopefully for you) going forward here at WA i'm now seeing myself on the journey working towards Mastery! We choose our Niche then we work diligently toward really getting to know our product/service whatever that may be. But like any Master working on his/her craft we spend many hours perfecting our skills and understanding around our niche.

The road will be ardous at times and we may want to throw in the towel...But we keep pushing forward, honing our skills day by day making small improvements...Weeks turn into months, sometimes years before we reach a level of skill that others recognise. Or where we finally start to make monetery gains from.
