Is it best to create a website specifically for one niche

could I make a website around a concept (like Art for example)....

and have different niche/commissions attached to the website (like supplies; paint, books, etc)

Best to have 1 website per niche.

Next question, how broad or narrow would the niche be.

You mention ART, by itself is a broad Niche as you can segment or categorized it further.

As for your products and monetization, really depends on your content strategy.

I have done both. All depends on if you have a niche and want to narrow it down to a specific. Either way can work if you put great content on it.
