When first starting building websites, I was so confused with Wordpress themes and which would be good for me - I created whole websites with one theme, then would change the theme completely just to get a feature I was missing (like footer capabilities)... I'd see other websites and wonder what they were using.
Well if you go to http://whatwpthemeisthat.com/ and type in the website you like it will tell you the theme and the plugins they use - yay!
Of course I don't advocate copying anyone, but sometimes we just like the feel of another site and would like a bit more information - especially in the beginning when everything is confusing - even the simple things like help choosing a WP theme can help you move forward instead of scratching your head.
