Happy International Women’s day

Hello everyone,I know this is early, but as you may know, women’s day is just round the corner, so I thought I’d post now, just to give everyone a little time to think.

It is important to celebrate women’s day, to show that you care about equality. So, here it goes!

A challenged world, is an alert world, From challenge comes change. So let us choose change, celebrate women’s achievements, encourage all women to pursue their goals without bias or barriers.

Empower a woman in the best way that you can think of, women’s day can be celebrated in any way possible, as long as it’s as an equal.

I have gathered ideas from my friends, together with mine, and I’m sharing it with you all, pick one or two and treat your lady (all ladies) and your female friends.

Number one idea: decorate the home, balloons, posters and flowers are great for this.

Number two: select a special dress colour code for all the family members in the household, bright colours gives us the feel of freshness and happiness.

Three: Buy little gifts to exchange, it doesn’t have to be expensive, it can be a card with a nice poem on it, or even a single flower, which expresses love and respect.

Four: Post a message on their social media page, or on the fridge or bedroom door, if they’re not on social media.

Five: A trivia game, everyone loves interaction, there’s nothing better than trivia for this.

Six: Make-up, get together and have a make-up session, girlfriends enjoy experimenting with make-up, or do each other’s hair.

Seven: Dancing, it encourages bonding and releases stress.

Eight: A class about any subject, told by a woman who has experienced, working in an industry alongside men only, she can let you know what it was like, working in a non-girl-power environment.

Nine: Hold some sort of show, encourage someone to show off their talent, whether it’ll be singing, acting or story telling.

Ten: Make a promise, promise to help women achieve their ambitions, to value their contributions equally, promise to encourage gender balanced leadership roles.

Eleven: Invite your male friends too, and challenge them to talk about the women in their life, talk about an occasion when they were motivated by a woman.

Twelve: Set up a challenge game, challenge each other on things you can or can not do, for example: a wine tasting challenge, or a pirate gaming challenge.

Thirteen: Men, can take the role of a woman for a day, if you have little ones at home, challenge yourself to a day as a mother, send the mother for a treat and look after the little ones for the day.

Fourteen: Personalize a gift for your female friends, to mark the day.

Fifteen: Get the men in the family to cook the meals for the day and serve it to the ladies.

Sixteen: Write a letter pointing out all her achievements, and praise her for achieving them.

Seventeen: go the extra mile, set up a fundraiser, raise money for a cause to do with women.

Eighteen: Give her an inspiring book, reading is inspirational and a way of learning, woman like a good book.

Nineteen: Thinking about women’s mental and physical health, book her for a yoga or meditation session for a day.

Twenty: Watch a movie together, here’s some movie suggestions which celebrate empowerment and equality: Mama Mia, The hanger games, Mona Liza smile, Brave, The blind side, Lara Craft-Tomb raider, The Iron Lady, kill Bill, There are many more, but these are the ones I could remember right now.

Twenty one: Organize an outdoor sporting event, something that you think, women are not very good at, challenge and support them through it.

Twenty two: This one is just for a laugh, laughing is great and stimulates the mind, get your group to reverse dress and take a walk round your block, men in dresses and high heels, and women in suit and tie.

Twenty three: Have a quiz round, set up questions related to Women’s day and test each other on the subject, with questions such as: what is the difference between men and women in leadership roles?

Twenty four: Send flowers to your mother, grandma, Aunt, sister and daughter if they live away.

There are loads of other things you can do in celebration to women’s day, if you won’t take one of my ideas, get thinking and make it a happy Day to remember for many years to come.
