Is 3 too much?

The question "Is 3 too much?" relates to having 3 niche websites from the beginning. I ask to gauge people's thoughts on this and also to highlight my reasoning which may possibly help others!

I feel most are going to say no concentrate on building one site you can't be productive enough working across 3 sites from the beginning of your WA journey or something similar.

So let me explain why!

My 3 niches are business, fitness and music and I plan to use a 70-20-10 approach. These numbers relate to the percentage of my time spent on each site.

70% business- I have ran offline businesses, online business and been involved in property so feel I have something to offer and this would be my main focus.

20% fitness- I enjoy being fit which at the minute feels way off, I'm looking at this almost being a diary if you like about the journey from fat 40+ to fit 40+ 😀

10% music- I love music and play guitar however my daughter who is an English lit student and a pianist is looking for a platform to improve her writing skills and this could be the answer

So the idea is to focus on the 80% while also slowly working on the others, once at the point where the main site is fairly established move the 20% to the 80% and the 10% to the 20%.

At this point I would like to move a new niche into the 10% slot but obviously the times spent on each site need to be managed to ensure the established sites don't suffer.

Hopefully I have explained myself well enough.

Any thoughts much appreciated.

Cheers

Ian

I agree with Simone, start with one site and work on building that one before starting on another. You have 20-30 pages to write for one niche before Google ranks you. During that time, your pages will be indexed.

Ian, I know what you are saying but I'm just wondering if you won't be spreading yourself too thin trying to manage all 3 niches.
Personally, I would focus on one first and when that is off the ground in say about 3 month's time, I would start another. In this way you will be able to breathe freely while giving your all on one site at a time. I hope that helps?

Thank you newme, one of the sites will be for my daughter to contribute as she wants to be a music journalist. So maybe 2 sites.

I know how passionate you are Ian but maybe still start with one initially? And see how it goes?
