Well, here I am less than 2 months into this. I am still excited and a bit overwhelmed at the same time. I had a huge site, unfocused as it was, but I cut that down so the readers didn't get bored to death.

Given the subject matter (Special Needs People) I have a hard time keeping it as interesting as it needs to be to hold on to the readers but it is sort of a dry, non-funny subject unless the reader is a person with a disability or has a friend or loved one who has to deal with a disability.

I have some experience, many years ago with coding so that part isn't too bad. The big problem is trying to make it more exciting. I am following the training but had to slow down a bit to actually absorb the information since it is entirely new to me. I am just passing Twitter training.

I think my next site will be substantially different. Yes I am passionate about the subject of people with disabilities and how we, as healthy individuals need to help them as much as possible but the WHOLE reason I am doing this is that my wife has a broken back from a 3rd story fall and the first wrong move for her could put her into a wheelchair too. Little David will probably be getting better over the next 10 or so years but I am the only one who can get him through the financial woes of college. He will not only have the normal expenses of college but he will have transportation difficulties and also be burdened by caregiver expenses.

It is my primary goal to provide for him and his mother but mostly Little David so that he can help provide for my wife as she gets older. Unless I experience a major miracle, at 70 now I probably won't be at my keyboard for many more years.

I live in Stress City. I didn't know all of this was coming or I would have planned for it 30 years ago. I already have 3 full-grown biologicals and 6 grandchildren. I thought I had paid my dues already and was ready to retire. Just poor planning but I am up to the task. My God strengthens me. If He is for me who can be against me?

Now, I have to get back to work. Mr. Excitement signing off for now.

David

You are carrying quite a load. Hang in there! As far as your site goes, use this first one as a place to share information and perhaps vent a little, but it won't be a big money maker unless you start talking about solutions for special needs people. I believe there are quite a few of those, and that could make the site more interesting and uplifting, if you are talking about solutions.

If that's not the direction you want to go with that site, when you're ready, start a second site focusing on something you enjoy and know about, whether that's gardening or cars or fishing or whatever. Those are easier to monetize for sure.

Thank You for the input. Solutions it is. I worry that it will grow too much. What is the best way to add to this subject (or any subject really) without writing too much?

1

You are the one in control of that. Are you worried about having to do articles on a regular basis? If it's just one a week, then it is just one a week. It will be slower growth, but it will still grow.

Or are you worried about the articles being too long? If so, really stay focused on just one idea, cover it and end the article without worrying about word count. As long as it is at least 600 words or more you'll be fine.

David, appreciate the follow and wishing you the best with everything happening at the same time. Step at a time and you will be getting there soon with another website. Take care

You used the right word: Motivation. It comes in many different times and ways. What is that old saying.... The strongest steel comes through the hottest flames. Thanks for the cheer and support!

David,
True we all have our crosses to bear and yours sound huge,
so sorry but keep plugging away at WA and you will find
success at the end of the rainbow where all the Stress at
Stress City seems to disappear :)

Wishing you nothing but the best and much success.
Susan
