Am I Important?

Most of us live quiet and somewhat ordinary lives, full of errands and tidying, occasionally dull work and annoying bosses, a child's smile when we make a favorite meal, financial worries that either loom or simply linger, a dog who loves you unconditionally, a car whose warning light never seems to go off. This is our day to day. Does our day to day make us feel truly special? That depends.

Are you in tune with our true passions? Are your actions aligned with your true self? Behind all the ordinariness, are you secretly (or perhaps not so secretly) living each day in pursuit of your dreams? That doesn't mean every moment is devoted to your desired end result; we all have responsibilities that need attending.

What it means is this: at the core of your being, do you know where you want to be? And do you truly believe you will get there? Do your actions align with who you want to be, even if you are not there yet? If so, you are important. Important as in having import, your life mattering, to yourself and to others--you have a destiny, a reason for being here and a purpose. Even if you feel like every day you fall short, with that purpose, that driving goal and a true sense of who you are in your core, you are important.

Never let your lack of success in this particular moment deter you from acting in alignment with who you truly are. You WILL reach your goals,and then (guess what!) you will set new ones. Constantly growing and moving forward, but always in line with your true self.

You are important, and yes, you MATTER.
