An Update on Where and am and What I am doing

Well...

I have created my website and added articles to it. I have asked others to review and comment and everyone has been very generous in posting and comments. I thank you very much. I have a new Facebook, Google+, Pinterest and twitter account and becoming interactive in each. I think I am doing what I am supposed to. I like my niche.

I have not made a penny yet but I am working hard at getting ranked higher in Google. I am trying to be as interactive as I can here at WA.

What I have realized is that all of this is very time consuming. more than full time. When you consider writing articles, sharing on social networks, responding to other people in WA, and doing research so that my content is accurate and maybe something people want to read... it all takes a lot of time. I am not complaining at all. I like doing this. Some things have been discouraging in that, although I am ranked in google, I am not ranked very high so other than people here at WA, no one connecting to my website because I am too many pages back.

I am doing this because my retirement is not picking up all my expenses. After nine months of applying for jobs I am over qualified for, under qualified for and qualified for, I was not getting calls for interviews, or responses to email or phone calls. I still have a lot of energy and I can think on my feet. I dunno.

I guess I'm just too old.

I did get an offer to drive trucks for a company. But when they found out I had diabetes they recanted the offer.

So, I worry. My wife worries too. I know this is not a get-rich-quick kind of business and I am willing to wait it out. I'm not the type to give up. But I am discouraged.

You don't start making money 2 months in. This is a long term gig that will make you a full time income if you stick with it! Read this:

Thank you, Littlemama! I will read these links. this is very helpful!

Hillard

I hope you will stay after reading them. :)

Yes! I am not giving up. I was discouraged but after reading all the comments I am back on my feet and motivated. Thank you!

Awesome great to hear!!

NO NO NO NO NO NO don't quit you are weeks to success ...OK It is up to you BUT No don't quit as far as I can see.

Here are my HONESTS points of view, why you should continue. (I am french Canadian speaking. So I apologize for the mistakes.)

1-First, you have a GREAT looking website

2-Most of your posts are based on real resources instead of repeat stuff ... GOOD POINT It gives credibility to your posts as far as I am concerned. And I can see that you made researches to write your posts.

3-There is a HUGE market for teaching and a LOT of diabetes people with the population getting older ... the market is huge

4- I am self employed. I did study MANY MANY years to
university (too many years ...) And it will take me 3 to 5 years to build my practice. And I am at the third one... it is a long run. So I understand your feelings. And just between you and me it cost me a fortune to study and I won't make millions in my job. But I LOVE it ... yes we can love a job :) SO TREAT YOUR BLOG LIKE A BUSINESS. It won't takes you years to make money I am sure.

5-For ANY business it is a WORK IN PROGRESS. I have to do the SAME thing with my Carreer. I always ask myself How can I be more effective, how can I better "market" myself ? I had weeks of no incomes ZERO. I had time to think about solutions :)

6-From what I have learned uptill now with WA, and I tell you so to help you not to criticize you in any way. I am not Jay, Kyle or a pro just an ordinary WA member who try to help you my friend ;)

-So I Think it is better to put the affiliate link on a review page or a page dedicated to products. So Google will rank higher your pages of good content with internal links to page of reviews of products.

-Your newsletter sign up is EXCELLENT. This is an excellent way to promote your products with short and sweet content on the newsletter.

-Why not put a banner of WA at the bottom of your page or on a widget on the side. WA pays really well.

-At the end of your articles you could write a strong Call to Action like " Register to our newsletter and get a free inspirational e-book about (ex: your write a 5 to 7 pages e-book with pics about the most popular people who have diabet but had great success in life or any other subjects) it gives people Hope !

-Sign your articles with your name or your blogger name and add a picture of you, it gives credibility. And don't worry you are awesome, Ask your wife she wiil agree :)

Assist to Jay's friday webinar, it is first class information.

7- And feel free to PM me your nexts posts. I will give you my HONEST and respectful feedback to help you to improve your results.

With my full respect of the decision that you are gone take.

Best regards, Jeff

Great tips, Jeff. Hillard didn't say he was going to quit...lol. Just needed a little encouragement and perspective.. You've certainly given him that!

~Jude

:) I did my 110% for sure lol

Cheers, Jeff

Jeff!!
Thank you for the great advise! I'll take it to heart and use it. This is what I needed!

Hillard

You are doing well. Keep on pressing

Hi Jude

I have just read again these four posts. Powerful information. I owe you a coffee, but a big one :) Thanks to reminds me the truth about the total potential of WA.

Best Regards, Jeff

Just so you know, I am not giving up. I have now put too much energy into creating this business. I am not a quitter! Just a bit discouraged. This morning I woke up to start anew and move forward.

I never assumed for a moment that you would quit. We all need a little encouragement sometimes. Glad you're back on track! :-)

I understand your feeling, but if you quit now, how about the work you already did, your time and so on? I understand it can be frustrating, but the best way is to keep on. Hope you will not give up. All the best.

You are correct, I left him two links above but all success stories are the same, it takes at least 6 months to a year to see any results and then it just keeps increasing from there. :)

Great, hope it will help him because at the end no one can't be in the shoes of someone else. We can understand him and give him advices but he has the final word, hopefully it will help. The best help for him now it will be to have a commission even if it is $5, and we really it will be soon if he doesn't give up.

Thanks for the update...

I have to admit I get the same feeling at times so do sympathize with you but the advice is to keep going and things will eventually fall into place. I hope this happens for you soon.

Don't get discouraged ,all your good work will be rewarded.Just keep working the room.At some stage it will tick over into positive and you will look back on this time as a blip on the screen. All the very best and good job to date. You have achieved a lot more than a lot of other people so never give up.
