We had a bat flying around our bedroom the other night. It scared me so bad I had until the covers for hours! The spouse finally got it out of the house, but I was terrified! She just kept shooing it with a broom until it was out.
I don't have any good advice...

I've used a trashcan to cover one on the wall before and then slip some cardboard underneath knocking the bat into it. I have also shot one with a pellet gun at close range, and beat another one with a broom until it died since the women folk were screaming as it terrorized us in the room at night. That's all been several years ago, and not recently though!

Usually just opening the window, and removing the curtains and closing the door locking it in that room will do it. I know one day I was sitting in my rec room and caught a glimpse of something flying into my kitchen and in between my kitchen fan blades then back to the living room. He must've got in the front door while chasing insects by my front door light. I eventually closed him into the living room after I opened the windows and in no time he flew out. I know one thing, it's very unnerving.

It is, indeed, Joe! The one I killed with the broom was in our bedroom flying among the moving fan blades!
